I pulled the trigger on the D700 this morning.:cool1::woohoo::banana: I get butterflies just thinking about it! It should be here tomorrow morning about this time. Just wanted to share with people who 'get it.'

Woo Hoo!!! :cheer2:

Way to go Wendy! The sweetest fruit is the one you've waited for the longest!

Do you have any photo projects in mind for this sweet new camera or are you taking it slowly, getting to know each other in good time?

Well I picked up the 50 F/1.4 D to go with her and will probably have a learning curve with both. My first "real" project will be Valentine pics of the kiddos. I have something in mind but we'll see what happens, lol! Otherwise it'll be a getting to know you kind of thing. I live in a cave so I'm super excited to test the ISO on her. I'm so excited I doubt I'll be able to sleep tonight!:yay::yay::yay:

Oh and I'm sure all the long time married couples will enjoy this: Hubby now has a brand new, shiny laptop that apparently does everything but the dishes.:surfweb:

How fun! Enjoy the full frame!! I still get excited using mine. :cool1:

Niceee!! :woohoo: Definitely jealous, but decided that I just can't justify the cost right now. If I ever decide I'd be willing to sell all but one of my lenses, I might make the jump---but for now my humble D90 will just have to do! :headache:

Pretty much what I did/am doing Ann. I'm keeping my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (by far my favorite lens) and selling the Sigma 30 f/1.4 and D90. (already sold my Tamron 17-50 F/2.8.) I actually got teary thinking about finding the D90 a new home, I love that camera.

Kat that's what I hear! Anyone I know who has a D700 even for a long time is always excited about using it.

Thanks everyone! JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!

Excellent!!! I can't wait to hear your thoughts after you've used it too. The D700 is next on my want list. I'm about half-way to getting it. :) Good for you!

Very cool - I really want to upgrade to a full frame and am thinking about selling my Canon 7D when the next version of the 5D is released. I'm constantly looking at my lenses and figuring out which ones I would keep, which I would sell.

I would have had him wait it out for the model that does dishes! :lmao:

Congrats on the new camera! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

woohoo Congrats on the new toy!! I am in the same camp as Ann and Amy. Want one ... don't want to part with any of what I have right now to fund it but am saving to hopefully be able to purchase one in the future. Until that day comes I turned my dream into a little temporary front yard art a few days ago when I was complaining about getting more snow.

Like I told my one friend who said I have too much time on my hands ... "some people smell roses .... I just build cameras outta snow."

Cant wait to see some of your pics from the two new additions. I have the 50mm 1.4 also and love the lens.

Awesome!! I'm looking forward to when i can get one myself. For now I'm saving up for the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 which I will have about 3-4 weeks.

Awesome Wen!!!!!!! Have fun and post those pics when you can!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

OMG you guys, I actually have tears in my eyes pixel peeping. It is not just hype! And where has that 50 f/1.4 been all my life?:lovestruc I will do a quick down and dirty process and some crops and get them up as soon as my kids will let me. I didn't take too many but Ann asked me to do a side by side with the D90 so I will set up tomorrow and do that. So far, it blows the D90 away ISO wise and I was pretty happy with the D90's ISO. Going to take some getting used to but I think it's love already!:lovestruc:love:

Thanks for the congrats everyone! Karyl that is too funny! LOVE it!

Off to process and crop. Hopefully I'll be back shortly!

Had one for about 18 months now (D700 - the 50 1.4 is on the short list!) and I can say without a doubt that it is absolutely the best camera I've owned - doesn't leave me wanting for anything!

Enjoy, and post some pics soon!
