Tonight we got out some of our older Disney home movies from our WDW trips in 1997 & 1999. We hadn't watched them since right after we got home from each trip. On one of our tapes we discovered that we had taped almost the entire ride of Journey Into Your Imagination - before it was "refurbished". It was really awesome to see Dreamfinder & Figment in their original bits again!
It was also really awesome & touching seeing our DD - then 4, now 11, playing in the fountain of Epcot. What seemed so unordinary back then compared to all the rides, parades, character interaction, really seemed like the highlight of the trip when we looked back on it, and how much fun she had splashing & giggling.
There was also the Epcot "Tapestry of Nations" parade that was our very favorite. One particular time we'd noticed that our DD seemed to be the center of all the parade CM's attention. It must've been the long blonde ponytails & the missing two front teeth & the million dollar smile...
. When we watched the tape we counted 23 interactions between the parade CMs & our DD...waving, blowing kisses, pulling her out & dancing with her, shaking her hand w/the puppet's hand, bowing...it was awesome.
Sorry this is SOOOO long, but it's been over 3 years now since we've been to visit the Magic, and will likely be quite a few years down the road. It was nice to remember the magic!
