Yes, i have forgot to post this before but yeah. My friends family just got a new laptop, and it has vista. Now, they're gonna get a touch screen for it, so in fireworks they can just touch the fireworks or tap them, and they still get the points. Questions to answer..

Do you think that could work?

How do you put the touch screen over the laptop screen?

Is that cheating?

I had a Tablet PC on loan from work for a while. I tried to play fireworks with it a few times and it didn't work as well as a mouse did. Even after I calibrated the screen I couldn't get near my normal high scores.

If you want hardware to boost your fireworks just make sure you're using a high resolution optical mouse on a matte surface. When I upgraded my mouse I got a noticeable improvement in my fireworks scores. :thumbsup2

so your saying, you should probably stick with the mouse unless your going to have to put some more time and money into that touch screen hehe. Good thing thats not me! and thanks for the help. :)

Thats a neat idea.
Although I don't understand how you can put a touch screen over a laptop screen :confused3. You would have to install an entire new screen and its very hard to find people to do that. Usually the only way you can get a touch screen laptop is if its a Tablet to Laptop convertible, there are some touchscreen laptops but they are very uncommon.I don't think its possible to put a touch screen over any screen. Just wondering...

I'll have to try that KrazyPete. I have a wireless mouse, which although wonderful for use with a laptop and every other aspect of VMK, but on fireworks? Nope, I do not recommend it, I do not!

yeah i dont know how, i thought they would get like this screen that goes right over it, with wires plugging in some where, or a USB wire. or something.

I still think that is kinda cheating, but an awesome way to play fireworks! :)

I imagine that if you practiced with the touch screen then over time you might get very good at fireworks with it. Personally, I didn't think it worked that well. Most of those screens don't actually work by touch. They sense when the stylus is near (it's electromagnetic or something). You drift the stylus over the screen and the pointer follows it, then you tap to click. Most of the time where you tap is not exactly where the click is seen by the computer. You learn to pay more attention to where the pointer is than the pen. I've had to work with three different model Tablet PCs and the pen behavior has always been the same. You can calibrate the screen but it's never perfect.

And remember, you still have to work the arrows to switch the fireworks. If you are on a convertable tablet (like a laptop with a touch screen) then you sometimes get your hands crossed over each other.

My experience is that a good wired optical mouse is the way to go. :thumbsup2
