Just had interesting call to Dolphin

I called to see what kind of instant rewards they had for points, just found out that for 1500 points, I can get $20 credit at the hotel..So I said "just to be clear, I can charge room service, and pay for it with points, at $20 per 1500 points"?. His repsonse was yes. Has anyone ever done this?

I have done this myself, and YES--it's possible. Only, I believe it is actually $25.00 for every 1500 SPG points. Call Starwood to be sure, or call the Dolphin and request to speak with a supervisor at the Front desk. I used some for room service, and some points I have exchanged/used for a "voucher" certificate received at the front desk. It was good for ANY restaurant on WDW Dolphin/Swan property (except Shula's Steakhouse). Enjoy...and make sure to ask again about the amount.
