We have been in WDW since Sun. My Mom and Dad flew in for 1 night. They are going with us to a Braves game tommorow. My Dad is a big baseball fan and especially likes the Braves. As soon as the game is over with we are heading home.

Anyway, we have been trying to get them to come with us since their one and only trip in 2000. We commando toured and burnt them out. No more WDW for them. Not such good memories. Heck, it was only our 2nd trip so we didnt know we should slow down.

We took them to Ohana tonight and had a wonderful meal. MMMM pretty much sums it up. We asked for a table near the window very nicely BTW and couldnt have gotten a better view of the Castle. We got seated at 6:35 so I gave up on the idea of seeing the 8pm Wishes fireworks. Didnt realize the meal would be that strung out. At the end of the meal, our waiter brought out the pineapple with caramel and asked if we would like coffee. I asked if it was Kona, he said no but it was no problem to get some. That did the trick, bought us an extra 15 mins.

Bottom line... we saw a fireworks show like no other I have seen in a while...with a birds eye view...and the audio coming in just like we were right there in the Magic Kingdom!!

Tears were once again welling up in my eyes. And yes, Im a guy.
The cool part of it is, just when you think you have expereinced all WDW has to offer(in truth I dont think thats possible)something else touches you when you least expect it and you understand once again the reason WDW draws you too it.

And I think my Mom and Dad enjoyed seeing the easier side of WDW also!! Maybe, just maybe they will wont to come back with us someday.

We were there one night also in December when we got to see the fireworks - it was UNBELIEVABLE!

AWESOME- I love 'Ohana. We were fortunate enough to have the same experience there with the fireworks about a year ago...sigh...it was so wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

What a great memory!

We had that disney magic on the fourth of July! What great luck!
With the patriotic music piped into the restaurant & super huge fireworks, my dh teared up too. O'Hanas is the BEST!

We had a moment like that when we took our first DD to Disney in 2000 during the Millinium Celebration. She was 2 then and we took her to Epcot to see the Tapestry of Nations parade and Illuminations.

During the parade she sat in her stroller, cute as a button I must say, and the CM in the parade were waving to her and letting her touch some of the parade items (we go in Sept and it is very uncrowded). DD was beaming!!!

Then during the fireworks my DH held DD to see the fireworks and during the show she just cheered and smiled. She would yell YEA at the top of her lungs. Seeing my DH and DD together during this moment simply made me cry.

I naturally bought the CD for this and we would play it in my car all the time. When the fireworks music came on my DD again would cheer as if we were there. Then one day the unimaginable happened, my CD began to skip because it was scratched. So I called WDW and had them send me 2 more (in case one got scratched again).

We went and saw this parade and fireworks for the next 2 years and we are so very sad that The Tapestry of Nations parade is now gone:( because it holds so many wonderful memories for us. Luckily, we have the CD to always remember it and hopefully my new DD (7 months) will be able to enjoy it even though she will never have seen it.

I am hoping WDW creates a new parade for EPCOT because it was wonderful to relax and see a parade before Illuminations.

So you mean to tell me that WDW replaced your CD after you had it for a while? And they did not just replace it with one CD but two just incase? So did you just call and tell them you had a CD for that got scratched and they should replace it, people now a days really amaze me.

Great magical moment story! I have actually never managed to see the fireworks from any of WDW's restaurants, but I think it sounds magical. I'll have to see if I can schedule a meal so it works out on my next trip.

Kelly Nelly- I think that she called and ordered 2 more to replace her scratched CD. I don't think it was a free replacement.

If I understand the post correctly she purchased 2 more in case one gets scratched. I don't think she just called and said they should replace it and they did.

The Braves had a split squaud so we didnt get to see all the big name players. We saw Chipper, Furcal, Giles, Franco, JD Drew looks impressive, Mike Hampton struggled in the 1st and Yanks scored 4 runs off him in that inning. He lokked better in next innings.

Smoltz came in and looked very good. Still throwing heat!! Braves won 6-5:teeth:

It seemed like more Yanks fans were there. We were surrounded by them. Most werent happy at end of game. Shef was there. A Rod wasnt.

Lots of fun! Its like being at a minor league park with a bunch of major leagers there. I definitely want to go back.

We had a similar experience last week. Seated at 7:15, kids were randy. We were one table from the windows. Newly seated family with 10yo(?) is in front of us. The boy was really concerened as to whether or not my 4.5 yo and 2yo could see. Music piped in was magical and I teared up. O'Hana is fantastic place to experience this show (and the wontons).
