i just got wdw dolphin on priceline for $72/night for 4/25-4/27!!!

here's how i did it:

clicked on wdw area for a resort hotel for $60 for dates above. priceline responded with: add $17 and rebid, I DIDN"T, instead i returned to the hotels main page and bid $72 for a 4 star hotel in the same wdw area selection. moments later came the cogratulations your bid was accepted for the wdw dolphin!!!! hope this helps with someones travel plans!!!!!!!

Congratulations! That's terrific. I have been following biddingfortravel.com and have seen people getting Swan/Dolphin for this rate.

I'm a little paranoid though-- I don't rent cars when I travel, so being on-site is very important to me. I could bid in this category and wind up with the Marriot World Center-- which, while I'm sure is a beautiful hotel, might pose transportation problems for me.

Congrats again on the Dolphin and enjoy your stay.

When I see everyone's Priceline sucess stories I am so tempted to try for the Dolphin/Swan but with my luck I would end up off-site.

Have a wonderful trip!

Call the resort and ask for this price. Tell them you saw this on Priceline for that price and you would rather stay with them rather than their competition. It will not hurt to ask. All they can say is no.

Be careful I tried 77 for the WDW Swan/Dolphin and ended up with the Hilton at downtown disney. Can you sell your reservations or are you stuck with them

I lucked out and got the amazing Priceline deal too. My last two days in Orlando, I'm going to be by myself so, I wasn't planning on staying on property. I also wasn't too nervous since I will have a car.
So, after seeing everyone else get this great rate, I decided to jump in and try it for $70. So, I lucked out and got Dolphin for $70 a night from 30/10-3/12.

are there any "tricks" to up your chances of getting the Swan or Dolphin versus and off-site hotel? One you bid, you lose your money, right?

There are no tricks. You could just as easily end up with the Hilton or MOWC.

Decided to leave our in-laws one day early and stay near Disney. We bid $75 and got the WDW Dolphin! We're doing the happy disney dance and will be there this Saturday!

Trepka1440 - THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!! Thank you so much for posting your original post. I just sucked up my Priceline fears and got the Dolphin also for the end of our trip, 3/13 - 15. We have stayed there before and it is such a fabulous hotel. And being able to take a nice walk back to the hotel after Illuminations on our last night in Disney is just the best! THANK YOU!!

We just booked a room for 8 nights at BC using DU. Do you think DU can switch me to Dolphin or Swan for this wonderful price? I just emailed my TA and asked. Prayers Please!!!!

Thanks:)

Unfortunately it won't work that way, dahess. When you bid on a room, your card is charged automatically for whatever room priceline awards you, and it may not be the Swan, it may well be Hilton or Marriott World Center.

There is a wonderful website called www.biddingfortravel.com that tells all about using Priceline, the inside scoop, and lists recent winning bids. But even this site assures you there is NO WAY to bid on or guarantee a certain hotel.

It did work on our last vacation to WDW. We received a "Free Upgrade" from POR to Dolphin:) Hey, it never hurts to ask!

dahess,
It will never happen. Sorry. The only way to be awarded this price is take the gamble on Priceline. We all wish there was another way to guarantee this hotel at that price. Stand in line.;)

I also got the Dolphin for $72. I bid right after I saw the first person get it about a week ago. The Swan/Dolphin haven't come up on Priceline in a long time (as far as I know).

Wow, I wish I had the nerve to go through with it!!Did you guys who got it all click on 4 star-I went over to check it out, clicked on "resort" and typed in 75.00-the response was that my chances of being accepted were small.
My dates are March 25-29--DU's website is showing no availability for teacher's or AP discount for those dates-I'm thinking that would not bode well for Dolphin rooms being on Priceline for those dates.
If I do get one of the other two hotels, do they participate in Extra Magic Hour or E-nights?
Thank you -great going , those of you who got the awesome rates!!!

The Dolphin hasn't been up on PL since late October/early November and the Swan is almost impossible to get (however I have seen posts in the past few days from people going in MArch or April).

Just wanted to say thank you as well! I got the Dolphin for our final night (too many dvc pts) for $72/night. I stayed at the swan which was lovely. I am looking forward to staying at a new place.

Thanks!
Melissa

cressy,
You absolutely MUST read the FAQ on www.biddingfortravel.com. You will learn to never, ever pay attention to that warning that says your bid only has a small chance of being accepted. I have always received that warning on the bids that have been successful.

When you pay through PL, is it a one night deposit, or the entire stay?
We will be retunring next January. I was thinking of splitting our stay between CSR and AS. But if people are getting S/D for this price in March and April -- January should almost be a cinch! (Although it is during marathon time -- 8 nights. And rooms book up.)
If I have to pay for an entire stay, maybe I will hold out until October or November and see what I get through PL.
