Just got scammed...

One of my friends just got scammed a few minutes ago. It was one of his good friends. He asked to try on his gray suit, and he let him. He had already borrowed someone else's suit, and given it back, so he thought it would be ok. I know he shouldn't have done it, but he did. So my question is: Since he reported it, what are the chances of him getting his stuff back? I feel sorry for him.
