Sorry to ask, but I applied for the card to get the Disney Parks Cards at 5% less (need the savings where I can!) The email saying I was approved said 5% on particular purchases, but excludes prepaid cards:(

Do you think this is for newly issued cards (a change,) or do you think it will not be an issue?

TIA!:wave2:

Disney gift cards are "entertainment cards" and the 5% off will apply.

Also, don't be discouraged if the cashier tells you you wont get the 5% discount because a lot of them don't realize that you do :)

Same goes for all other prepaid cards sold at Target (food, movies, etc.).

The only exception is for Target's own Gift Cards.

I buy them all the time, so don't worry about it. DO not ask at your store because the vast majority of them do not know that it will work. If you are nervous about it you can get a few cards and some milk or something else that you need and then you will see that the 5% comes off the whole total. I do this to save the headache when at my store the only register open is a certain person who is not very nice about using the discount with gift cards. I combine the RX reward with the red card and she will refuse to scan the RX card if I do not have other items.
I know I could fight her on this, but it is just so much easier to grab a pack of gum.

You will get 5% off. Like others said, don't ask just purchase them. My mom has a red card and she called and they said no. We went in and bought some and the total was 5% off!

UGH I would then ask to speak to a manager if she refuses to scan your card. She is not doing her job properly.

Its automatic that it will come off when you swipe the card, actually I'm not sure they even can make it show up on the computer before you swipe the card. I have also never had the computer mess up and not give me the discount (the employee one that my DH gets has done this, but never the 5% card one).

The Rx one is actually a separate card (paper coupon style card) that has to be swiped so that one you will sometimes get annoying employees that don't know how to do their jobs. If they refuse ask for a GSTL (these are the managers for the front lanes)

I would do a transaction at a different register then carry that receipt around for the next time to show her.

But I'm weird like that. I like people to be properly trained and pay attention in training, and not try to make up rules.

It still works, last week my mom was able to buy 300 in gift cards with the 5% off. :)

I bought a bunch online a week ago, and bought some in the store yesterday and got the discount both times.
