Amazed at how im coming up with vdh. Booked 1 night preferred studio at 2 points less than vgc studio in January. 1 night February in a duo studio coming in 7 points less than vgc.

Ofc the duo and studio room type cant compare, but im comparing how far I can stretch my points and for a couple this was def the right choice. So far saved 9 points for two nights. Im def feeling great about my choice with how much I want to go

And if I would have bought poly I wouldnt have been able to go until next year. Thank you all

I just read the charts for exchanging thru disney for cruises and hotels, I knew it was a no but now its a double no lol

Keep comparing as time goes on! As the price for DCL rises, the charts don’t!

So, the value rises!! Plus, when DCL puts a sailing on discount, I have been told by DVC you will get that same discount off the points!

It’s still not giving you the same $$ to renting your points.

But my cruise booked for cash in Aug, based on today’s pricing, would be $11.70/point value. It was closer to $10/pt based on when I compared.

All this to say that if you decide you want to cruise DCL last minute, the points exchange is better than when you check farther out!!!

I briefly skimmed so it was unfair for me to dismiss it entirely!

And really anything under 25 points a night for the Tokyo hotels is fair game to me! Hadn't even thought that the charts wouldn't rise in the future.

The renting out yourself thing from brokers also pays 70-75% upfront and then taxes isnt ideal when wanting to just rent, shoot you may even get nearly the same upfront as this and then have to come up with the money elsewhere. Im glad for the option for excess points!

I feel bad watching everyone gear up for snow as I sit here in shorts, but that's why norCal costs the big bucks I guess, if I want snow I can drive 2.5hrs to it, if I want to sit on the beach in January, I can do that too (Albeit with a sweatshirt).

ETA we slogged out 2 really rainy days at the parks in early Jan and it didn't keep the crowds away like it used to!

I was trying to get the info from my guide about how sold out the resort is, but she said they dont have the info. She said a ton of people bought sight unseen in the beginning and there was more demand than any resort shes ever seen before opening. It would be nice to know if we're at least halfway there!

Orlando is scheduled to be chilly next week and beyond... But today it nearly got up to 80... you just never know!

Orlando's weather truly is a mystery. I walked from my house to my detached garage and got soaked this morning. 5 seconds after getting into my car and backing out to go to work, literally 2 drops fell onto my car

Just got back from a fantabulous stay at VDH Stitch is the new shoulder plush gift for the member update. Unfortunately you can only go once every 6 months, so no stitch for us!

We stayed in the handicapped studio and we liked it! Which is great because it frees up some last minute options like we were able to grab this time! I loved how large the bathroom is and the main bedroom. I thought i wouldnt like it at all and we actually liked our HA tiana studio better than the regular sleeping beauty.

It was cold for california standards, but our jacuzzi dvc convos were a real hit again! Met some fort wilderness owners and they were telling me WHY I need to go for halloween and I am convinced! Better than christmas because of all the candy and drinks you get Costumes and decorations so elaborate, its a big party. They said many families rent out more than one cabin so they can create really detailed scenes.

Room service was a miss this time, food arrived cold and gross but they promptly refunded. Love that ablut dvc. Housekeeping was really great to us, told us we can stay in the room late while they go on lunch!

Took the monorail into Tomorrowland for the first time! Really convenient for the lounge, which yes, we finally went to! I enjoyed making my little coffee and reading the trivia screens. Was impressed they gave us phone chargers and happy they had assigned seating. Found it amusing that people had laptops and were making a day of it

Well I decided to take the plunge and book our first grand villa stay for two nights for my wife's birthday! At first I felt crazy for how much those points are worth but life is about experiences right? And with my fully loaded points now is the perfect time i feel we may not get the opportunity again. It still leaves me enough points for d23 and a duo studio for the holidays twice so im doing it and not looking back! I feel it will be a once in a lifetime experience for us and seeing the look of shock on my wife's face when we enter that room, priceless!

For the lounge, do they try to nudge people out after a while? I can't imagine bringing a laptop in.

I've never seen them do so. We go to the lounge quite often, including on weekdays, and I always see people working. Personally, I've gone up there a couple times when I needed to do an hour or so of work on a weekday when it isn't busy, but try not to stay in there too long if it looks full. I also love sitting at the Jolly Holiday for brainstorming type work. Something about the kinetic energy helps my brain.

I almost feel selfish because this would be my birthday dream but who wouldnt like that room right Nope they didnt try to get him out, we were there for probably an hour and he was right at home I wouldnt be surprised if he stayed till closing. Im not going to lie, if my wife let me I would have gone today and just made myself at home on disboards all day there and been happy as a clam

The music was pretty relaxing, maybe they shouldnt make it so comfortable I kept telling my wife the bathroom was a thing and she looked at me like I was nuts for being excited about that lol. It was crowded, im sure in the summer its packed.

Oh yeah I need to, our room was 245 and no pictures there! I only took video, but ill take some screenshots.

I thought there was only one HA deluxe preferred based on the maps/pictures shown, so I was surprised to get a second floor one!

I liked that it was adjacent to the garden studios so it felt like we were pretty close to the pool too albeit the view partially being obstructed by the garden rooms, it almost felt like half a preferred view. Still, my wife commented this was a much better view than our other room, she didnt know this was a different category so it was noteable.

I kept thinking man I wish they put balconies in these rooms!
