Just got off the Dream yesterday. My impressions.

Thank you for the great review!!! We go on our 1st trip next month - also a 4 night on the Dream! Did you do any walking trails on Castaway Cay? I feel like that would be a nice relaxing activity for my family - aside from lounging on the beach, which we also plan on doing!

Also, since you didn't get off in Nassau, what did you do on the ship that day?

Quellman--thank you very much for the info. I guess the good news (that I can tell my extended family that will be with us) is that "hopefully the 1st night will be the worst"...??!! :-)

And hopefully the gulf stream current sounds like it's trending to "less severe" lately? That's good news.
What were the dates of your 1st and then your 2nd cruises?

Thank you so much for the information!

You are welcome. Dates of the trips were 19 Feb and 22 Feb.

There is a walking trail down the runway and to the observation tower. There is water scattered along the sides. It is wide, paved, and shared with bicycles. Both sides generally have tall plants, but there isn't tons of shade. There are also artifacts to see like crates, anchors, etc. There also is another trail at the end of the runway that runs parallel to Serenity Bay Beach, but I have never experienced that trail.

Thank you! That sounds like a good opportunity to pop our 1 yr old into his stroller and just take in the scenery!

Thanks for the review. It's nice to hear about the experiences as we plan got our first cruise next Feb.

Did your DD12 take a wave phone with her when she was in the Teen area and while walking around the ship? I'm trying to figure out what would be the best system of communicating with my son while on board.

If he has a smartphone, download the navigator app! It is free to use on the ship's wifi(no charges to you whatsoever) and it has a built in messenger. This was much more reliable than the wave phones. Our wave phones died about 30min after taking them from the charger!

Thank you! Do you know which characters are typically aboard?

Characters on our 7 day cruise included Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Stitch, Woody, Jessie, Tinkerbell, Hook & Smee, Jack Sparrow and then you needed a ticket from the port adventures desk(go right after boarding) to see Anna & Elsa and the Princess gathering which had Cinderella, Tiana, Belle and Ariel. I would suggest lining up for any character about 15 minutes early. They usually only have them out for around 15-20 minutes at a time. They should show up at several times throughout the cruise though!
