I just got my packet in the mail and am so stoked 'cause that means were going really soon. :cool1: What I'm wondering is do I need to make reservations or something for the coupons we got for Preferred Seating? And among the choices were Aladan-Musical Spectacular, Muppet Vision 3D, It's Tough to be a Bug, or Golden Dreams. Any thoughts, past experience and/or information would be really appreciated. Just not really sure about what to do. - but we are going soon and that's a good thing -

YAH! How exciting! I also got the preffered seating things, but never saw any of the shows, so Im afraid I cant help you.

I'm stoked with ya :cool1: I picked up our packet Thursday at AAA. I was told to present the preferred seating card (1 for everyone in our party) at the specific attraction (4 shows) roughly 30 min before it starts. :woohoo: :dance3:

Come on Gail, where is that positive festive attitude  :dance3: Just think about how great your trip is going to be, never mind that it will end. I all ways try to take a few days off after my trip (6 days) and be ready to plan another trip. :stir:

Aloha, Niele! I got my packet last week from the FedEx man, isn't it exciting? Looks like I'm going to miss you, we're there a week earlier. My kids (11 & 14) liked Aladdin more than any of the other shows, I really liked Golden Dreams. When we were there last year, Golden Dreams and It's tough to be a bug were walk ons; we got to the theater a half hour before Aladdin started and it was extremely crowded. Since you're there during a busy time, I'd suggest going at least 30 mins prior even with the priority seating.
Have a great time! :yay:

Wow, thank you all for the great information and good wishes.... This discussion board has helped me out soooooooo much with everyone's input, insights and photos, it's really cool.

BTW - anyone staying, or have stayed recently, at GCH? Just wondering what it's been like lately.

Again, much mahalo all!!!

the GCH is beautiful with a huge tree in the lobby. Also the room keys now turn into luggage tags! Very cute. There is a slot at the top of the key and the front desk will give you the plastic 'ties' to turn it into a luggage tag.

You will have a great time! And I also vote to use your priority seating for aladdin!

Echo queen you are so right, I have to be more positive, not just about my trip but about life. I did start to get everything ready to be packed away, or at least the things I can do for now, some days are more positive then others, I was always depressed at Christmas time anyhow, I am alone meanigng just me and my son, I really believe this time of year we should all have a partner/companion to be with. Ok, :santa:

:cool1: Fantastic! I know how exciting it is to get your package in the mail.

If you want to call up for preferred seating you can, but honestly... those are all walk on attractions. Muppets, & A bugs life has a show every 15 minutes. All you do is you go into the queue get a pair of 3D glasses and stand by a door till it opens into a theature with TONS AND TONS of seating. Aladdin is the same way (Nix the glasses). Huge theature with lots of seating. I got to the Hyperian at the last minute before the show, and although I got a balcony seat, I got an awesome view of everything, and there was still seats to be had. But if your worried about any of them, id call for Aladdin. But its not really necessary.

Again, thank you all for the info - really appreciated........ two weeks from today.... YAAAAAAAY!!!!!

I just got my packet today in the mail. 17 more days and I will be in DL :santa:

GailT - Be as positive as you can, do whatever it is to make you a little happy every day. Life is never a sure thing, you just have to "go with the flow". We just had a 13yr old boy die here recently while riding on a catamaran of waikiki with his family during vacation! ..... it was just a really freak accident... you just never know.... Just think, you've got your wonderful son with you and all of us on Disboards plus you can now start thinking about your next trip to DL :) It is really hard during the Holidays but I'm sending really good thoughts your way and wishing you the best. :goodvibes

Did any of you get stitch VMK cards in the mail with your packet?

I agree Niele, life is to short, I am getting excited the closer it gets to going, I am positive I will love it. This is my first Christmas away from home and when I booked the trip it felt so right but I think I am just having a hard time not being in my home for Christmas but I'll get over it. That is sad about the young boy, a life cut short due to an accident, so sad :firefight

We got our packet yesterday :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: nd there were no VMK cards in the envelope. DD would have loved to have gotten her hands on those.

Our experience was:
Muppet Vision 3D, moderately crowded, absolutely hysterical
Tough to be a Bug, light crowd, fun show, well worth doing
Golden Dreams, a dozen people max, neat show but the kid got bored
Aladdin, jam packed, nobody had taught their children how to behave and the show was dreadful

If you're set on Aladdin, to the PS for that. Otherwise, remember that *everyone* wants to sit in the orchestra so the seats in the loge (front center balcony) are frequently far better than what you'll get downstairs. Real theatres charge comprable prices for second level orchestra and loge.
