Ok, So I already made my ressies and bought my hoop tix, and now my Disney visa comes in. So now can I call back to switch cards to receive my discount? Or is that too much trouble? I am confused...

Please help. How much discount do you get on myw pkg, food, rooms..

i have never done it, but i can't imagine it would be a problem. i did that with airline tickets yesterday, and we had already picked up the tickets! they just refunded one card and put it on the other.

I didn't realize there was a Disney Visa discount. Can you inform me? Thanks!

I just got my disney visa also! I'm not showing any discount only the six months zero financing unless they've added something in the last day or two.

You shouldn't have a problem at all changing around the charges - just be sure they credit the original card!!

Unless your Disney Visa came with a special discount offer there are no regular discounts by using that Visa. You'll receive your 1% of each dollar spent in your reward card.

I absolutely hate that card - what a waste. Although I recieved the lowest apr available it went up before my no apr was even finished! Had not even used the card for more than a couple of small items. So I called to ask how could that happen and of course they explained because it was a variable rate (due to kick in this month), so he adjusted it again to a lowerfixed rate, but when I received the statement yesterday the rate had gone up! Not only have I not made a late payment, I pay it on line before the paper bill even arrives.

Honestly, I don't know why I have not ditched that darn card..holding out hope for some kind of great WDW room deal..although even that could not be any better than the codes I already receive.

Sorry...guess I needed to vent about that darn Disney Visa card!

I'm with you on that Disney Visa card.
I didn't realize  that they would charge interest on new purchases immediately upon purchase. NO GRACE period. So, I charged my tickets and room deposits. The very next cycle, I already had over $15.00 in interest charges (and this was the first time that the purchase had shown up on the bill!) I called and they hem-hawed around until I asked point-blank..."So, there is no grace period on new purchases, is there?". She finally said, "No, if you have any balance, interest accrues upon purchase." Sheesh!

If we get no discount this year, I think that I am canceling mine.

what do you mean? If i put my disney package on my disney visa I'll get charged interested even if I pay it off within the month???

I was wondering about the Disney card too, but it doesn't sound like something I want to be a part of. I haven't read about anyone getting any good deals.

If you pay the entire balance in full by the due date, there is no interest charge. I think the problem is when you make, say, the minimum payment or less than full payment. Then, the interest starts, and keeps accrueing with every purchase until you pay the full balance.

I thought the reason they got rid of Disney club was b/c you could get discounts with disney visa...did I miss something?

I think we all got schnookered (is that a word?) :flower1:

Guess I'm in the minority on this thread...but I LOVE the Disney Visa. We switched to charging everything! (Clothing, food, gas, utilities...) and the free Disney $$ keeps on coming! :cool1: :cool1: They even had a special bonus period last yr (it may still be in effect) that once you reached a certain level of mthly spending extra bonus $$ kicked in. :Pinkbounc So far I have been able to obtain 2 free 4 day hopper passes (adult) for our next trip. Soon I'll transfer over the add'l disney dollars I've earned since purchasing the hoppers and use those to pay for the balance on the hotel or food. It's great!!!

BUT and this is a BIG BUT, if you don't pay your acct in full each month then yes, you are going to get charged interest. I think most credit cards work that way, though some may be more forgiving in terms of a grace period on new purchases.

I got my card in August with no interest on 6 months. I can pay the min. amount until March 1st though I pay more so I don't go over the credit limit (which has already been raised twice;)). When I signed up I got $50 free disney rewards, and I've heard another 110. So I'll have at least $160 in rewards to spend for our March trip. You can also get 6 months interest free if you book a disney vacation, but I don't know the details on that. There's a lot of info on the budget board about the Disney Visa.

If you do not pay the balance off each month (wish I could, but not possible) doesn't the apr cost more then the rewards amount are worth?

For instance, at the time I received my Disney Visa I was offered the lowest apr available and 0% for 6 mos (new cardholders now ger 0% for 12 mos!). Although I've made way more than the minimum payment and the card is almost paid in full, the apr was set to go up at the end of my 6 mos because it was variable. I called to complain because my 6 mos of 0% was not even up yet, and was offered a slightly higher than the first apr, but was told it would be fixed. I took it because I figured I'd not have to worry about apr increases. When I recieved my bill this month the apr was higher yet!

So, I guess this is confusing, but with an apr (Disney Visa does not offer the best aprs) of 11 or 12% doesn't that negate any reward dollars earned each month? Also, if someone needs or choses to make the mimimum payment those payments are higher than many other cc's.

Thanks! :flower1:
