just got my deposit amount..

i went through small world vacations and got a quote for a 8 night /7 day stay at the carribean beach resort for may 23rd of 2005.
the total is going to be $1284.48
and they said if they run across discounts they will be applied.
im hoping booking this early that i won't have a problem getting the fla resident discount when it rolls around. is small world vacations good to go through ?
i know this will give us plenty of time to save up. i have to pay the deposit by april 25th.
am i doing pretty good so far ? this will be the first time i have planned a trip and actually planned it so far in advance.

and one more ? , what happens to the extra money if you do get discounts added ? do they just credit it back to your card ?

I've never used Small World - but I believe they're the one that Mousesavers recommends so I'm sure they're a good group.

More then likely any discounts will come out BEFORE you've paid the balance of your trip so it will just reduce the amount you have to pay either before the trip or when you get there (I don't know if you booked a pkg or a room only) If you have already paid in full then they'll credit your card or send you a refund if you've paid with cash.

You have a full year to pick up LOTS of good hints and ideas here on the DIS! Enjoy!

i am booking for a room only. i figured i would get our 4 day park hoppers when they come out for fla residents next february. im getting the 8 night so that we will have days to just rest around the pool and what not. this past trip we went on we were constantly rushing to do things. didn't have time to just sit back and relax really.
this trip will be better planned out

Then you should have no problem - room only reservations don't have to pay anything but the deposit until you actually check in.

I wish I could get those Play 4 Days passes! My brother lives in Jax and they just went over spring break with those. Universal often has FL AND GA resident deals - but WDW never does

I probably live as close to WDW as you do up there in the panhandle!!! I'm a 5 1/2 hour drive.
