Just Got Home from Target...

I did not think we could use these accounts for dues, but I would not be surprised if they changed their minds. I know this fall DVC members were offered a promotion on park tickets & the accounts could be used for this. I called member services and confirmed this, though they had to ask a supervisor. I tried it and my credit card was billed instead of my vacation club account. I think these accounts are still new and once they work out the kinks they will extend it service.
I'm not certain in this area but I've been told that the number for the DVA acts just like a gift card so you'd just give the number to MS as such.

I plan on calling in tomorrow and paying our $3,000 dues with about 10 gift cards (didn't go the $50 card route this year - they range from $200-$500). I'll see if they'll take that many over the phone.

Last year I entered and faxed about 60 $50 cards.

I thought about buying a $902 Target gift card using my PayPal card to earn 1% and then ordering the Disney Gift cards online but is little leery with the problems with activations. I decided that of I get them in the store and there is a problem, it might be easier to resolve it in person.

I got home and loaded them all into the Disney gift card app and they are all showing up correctly.

I'm not sure that they would have even allowed you to buy the Disney Gift card with a Target gift card. Where I work, you can not buy a gift card with a gift card, even if it is the stores gift card.

Target will allow you to buy a gift card with a gift card. I have done it a few times in the last couple of months.

I am not sure Disney cares about the discounted gift cards, the discount is on Targets end, not Disneys end.

Thats good to know, thank you! I work at CVS and we can't do that at all.

I can confirm that you CAN NOT go to Disney and purchase one large amount gift card with several smaller gift cards. I just tried this Sunday and they said no. :sad2:

For those of you with a Chase Freedom card, grocery store is 5% rebate this quarter. My local grocery store also carries Disney Gift card. The GC is loadable between $15 to $500.

This should saves some time if you just load couple cards at $500 at a piece. Side note, Chase Freedom rebates up to $1500 at the 5% rate (i.e. $75 rebate total per quarter).

The best discount I have found so far, but it is already too late to take advantage was the Black Friday 10% target gift card discount. We purchased enough gift cards with a credit card that gave us a 2% cash back on grocery stores. Our discount for our dvc dues and vacation expenses starts 12% discount.

That was only a max of $300.
