Congratulations! That's wonderful news. I'm hoping for that kind of a letter for DD next year. Where is your son going?

Holy Crap!!! Good for you!!!! :cool1:

Thanks!!! He just finished his freshman year at Western New England College. He worked really hard, and ended the year with a 3.97 GPA. The school awarded him additional scholarship $$$$$ for doing so well. He is in a tough major-mechanical engineering, and we are so proud of him :).

sounds like he earned it!

congrats to him and you.

MIkeeee

Congratulations! We know that feeling quite well. My high school senior received her financial aid package for Emory University. It was for the full amount of tuition, fees, room and board. We never thought she would be able to attend Emory, but unexpected surprises happen!

Congrats to both of you:yay:

congrats!! you are so lucky that everything is covered. Wow!!

my ds also got $50,000 grant from Columbia university. He has to contribute $2000 as a student/parent contribution because each and every student has to regardless of aid as they are expected to work during the summer to come up with it. He got a $3000 scholarship and he cannot even use that towards student contribution, he can only use it towards work study aid which he will get about $2800 but it will cover it so he will not have to do federal work study for extra expenses. $52,000 covers tution,room,board.:love:

Wow!!!!! Excellent. I am sure he deserves it. Congratulations and Good Luck to him!

Wow, that is so exciting! WNEC was on the list for my DS to look at, but we never got there. He went a little west instead. But he does have an acquaintance who goes there now. Congratulations!

Wow! This makes it even better. Sounds like he definitely deserves it!! :thumbsup2

And congrats to everyone else with their sweet financial aid packages. I've got a long way to go before I get there. Heck, I'm still waiting to hear about the subsidy from our church for our Catholic school for next year! :lmao:
