It was!! We were all running around taking photographs like little kids in a candy store! And this was just off the side of the road, as the motorcoach was driving us from Denali to Girdwood!

We did a princess land and sea cruise and stayed at a Denali lodge, and the mountain was visible for about an hour. People were running around the lodge yelling..."the mountain is out! The mountain is out!

Beautiful! I did a Princess cruisetour to Alaska, also! (In 2006). Loved it! But at the Princess McKinley Lodge, we only saw it obscured by clouds (until sunset, at which point we saw it in perfect silhouette!!)

Gorgeous pic! It looks like the same vantage point as mine! Was it on the road from Denali to the Kenai Penninnsula? Looks like gorgeous weather!

That was on the road from Denali back to Anchorage - north of Talkeetna.
We also got great shots (and you see that clouds coming in) at a stop near Willow.

Could be the same spot. You have to go through Anchorage to get to Kenai, I believe!

KandAMom - since you just got back and while it's still fresh in your mind, do you have any packing tips for this trip? (We have 2 boys, will be ages 8 and 11.) We are going to try to do it next summer assuming I can get dates to work out, so I've already started a file for "Alaska tips" on my computer!
