Just got back from our 5 night / 6 day stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village.

I'll type up a trip report with some pics later......but just wanted to say.....while I loved the hotel itself, getting up, walking downstairs and seeing the animals awesome.....there is a reason we waited to buy into DVC until Bay Lake Towers opened. We're monorail people and getting to and fro on the busses (ALL THE TIME) was a bit annoying.

Kidani Village was nice, but it wasn't home.

I've got a trade show next November and my booking window opens up on Sunday. I'll be heading back home to Bay Lake Tower.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Lovely resort, enjoyed my stay, but I love my BLT. :lovestruc

I can't wait to read your trip report. I am curious to see how Kidani was, the girls and I would like to try it out someday but DH is really not that big into AKL/Villas anyways. He likes the animals, resort, and the restaurants but he just does not want to stay there. Maybe I will just have to wait and have a girls trip :goodvibes

We are looking forward to Kadani Village after staying many times at Jamba house. We always rent a car for our entire stay. We Californians have to have our car.

I am the same way.I like being where I don;t have to take allot of buses. I did a split stay at BCV and BLT in October which was perfect. While at BC we did the restaurants and parks there and while at BLT we ate at the monorail resorts and went to Magic Kingdom.:lovestruc For me that is a perfect combination:thumbsup2

I did like staying at AKV for 3 days just prior to going on a cruise. I don't think I would like any longer of a stay. But it is a beautiful resort.

I am doing the same thing in June with the Tree house villas. Not sure I would like a whole week there so we are doing 4 days there before our 5 day Cruise on the Dream.

Being DVC members we are all so lucky to have such flexibility and choices. I sure hope that doesn't change as some rumors have stated.

We don't mind the buses at all. The resort is incredible. And to AK it is a 4 minute bus ride. About 12 to Epcot. The relaxed feeling, theming, the staff. Sanna, the pool, Jiko, Boma, and of course the animals make it a resort unlike any other.

Understood. I did love the theming, but with a 4 year old the majority of our park time is over at the Magic Kingdom.

I can see going back down there if my intention was to not go to the parks or if we were going down without kids and could just relax.
