Hi,

We just got back yesterday, stayed in the Fairfield by Marriott near universal for the first three nights and then OKW for 12 nights. We visited universal the first two days and then all the Disney parks. Did the "keys to the kingdom tour". Went shopping and had a great time.

If anyone has any questions that I can help with then let me know.

Glad you had a nice time! I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the Keys tour as I'm thinking about doing this next visit. I know you can't take photos at certain points but can you carry your camera bag with you?

We didn't take a camera as we were told that there would be no photographs allowed. However we were not asked about cameras when we checked in, but told by our guide not to take photos in the back stage area. So I could see no harm in having a camera for the "on show" areas. I thought the tour was great and worth every penny. Our tour lasted 5 hours and we went on two rides. The lunch was in a roped off area in the C.H.H. When you checkin you can have complementory coffee and bottles of water. The water is usefull to take with you when you are walking around. We did ours on Sat 12th and our inlaws did theirs on the 14th. They got headphones with theirs, but we didn't. They seem to be trialing the headphones, so they should all have headphones soon. We could hear our guide without them, so no big deal to us. I would love to do the Epcot one, but we will have to wait until we either have baby sitters with us again or our kids are 16.

You get a pin (badge) with your name on to wear on the tour and you get a special pin at lunch time.

Have a great time.

Sounds like you had a great time! How was the new slide at OKW?

BB, I'm interested to know if you found 2 days enough for Universal. We've been undecided as to whether to get the 2 or 3 day tickets for our trip in Oct. We already have the 14 day Disney tickets.

Welcome Back

Sounds like you had fun. How is the castle and Soarin shaping up.

Glad you had a good time - the Keys tour sounds great :)

Check out the Universal on-line ticket store . The 5 for the price of 2 ticket may be the answer for you :)

Mickeymcmouse - I didn't notice any new DVC stuff, but I tend not to look to much as I get tempted. I did buy the DVC watch, and it is great. I ordered/paid for it from Vero gift shop before I left for Florida. I then phoned them when I arrived at OKW and the fedex it to me. The watch is really nice and I had it altered at the world of Disney. I picked up the SSR pins at the open house, so that is worth doing. We never made it over to the meet at SSR as we had my DH's parents with us.

Miffy2003 - My daughter went down the slide and found it a bit slow. I think is built for all ages. The theming was lovely and fitted very well into the pool.

k-herm - We found that it was difficult to fit everything into two days, as we have a timid 4 year old. This meant a lot of baby switching. In fact I had to miss a couple of things as the time ran out. I didn't bother me to much as I have been before and we are going again this Christmas. I would think to get everything done then 3 days would be better. This gives a day in each park and a day to do all the things you missed. It also depends on what time of year you go and if you like the thrill rides. Make good use of the fast pass system this saves a lot of time.

KayleeUK - The castle is looking amazing. It has lots of gold trimmings added for the celebrations. Everyday something else had been added. The garden in front of the castle is being lowered to allow a better view of the castle from main street. I will try to add a picture to show it. Soarin is visible now and looks really big, you can't miss it. Not sure when it is due to open.

Just figured out how to do it. This was taken on the 16th Feb.
