Just got back yesterday from 1st Disney trip. WOW!
We had a party of 11 on the deluxe dining plan.
We did almost all table service with several dinner show packages.
Although we were prepared to pay the tip which we thought was not included, many of the were. When you get the bill, some of them were different. Some had all of your food items at zero but a price marked for the tip. We left cash. Some of them had all items at zero. We questioned the server at these and were told that the tip was included already. Who was I to argue!! :confused3

Just don't be in a hurry because none of it happens quickly.

We went to Tony's Town Square for a Grand Gathering Breakfast w/ Philarmagic show fastpasses. Gratuity says 0.00 Meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy & Goofy. Good food.

Also went to Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch. Again gratuity says 0.00. This one also includes a picture package w/ Cinderella! Cost only 1 credit each. Food not fabulous though kids love meeting 4 other princess too.

Hope that helps ;)

When we went for lunch to CRT back in '06 it cost 2 TS credits. I hadn't heard that it had changed to 1 TS. Are you sure it was only 1 TS credit??? If it is 1 TS then we will be going back  I didn't feel the food or the Castle was worth 2 TS, even when including the tip (JMHO :rolleyes1 ).

We just ate at CRT. It was 2 credits.

I believe the tip is included in the dinner show packages, and at CRT, if you ate there.

This gets so confusing. I am going in September and have the platinum dining plan and was told any restaurant or show on the list was 1 TS for us. Now I wonder if the CM that booked us had the right information up.

Just got back from using the DxDDP myself. Signature restaurants are indeed 2 credits per person. At either a two credit restaurant the receipt will say "N entitlements" used where N is the number of persons on the plan covered at that meal. In fine print it says that at signature restaurants actually 2N entitlements will be deducted from your pool. So for example you have 27 entitlements to start with. Then eat at California Grill with 2 adults and 1 child, the receit will say "3 deluxe dining plan entitlements used" and "21 deluxe dinining plan enititlements remaining" So in fact, 2 credits per person were in fact used. At dinner shows, such as the hoop dee doo, you convert entitlements at the hotel concierge sometime (a few days) before the show to a ticket.

Dinner shows such as the HDDR, pizza delivery and room service have gratuity included; but thats it. BTW if you are seated witha party of 6 or more an 18% automatic service charge or automatic gratuity is added - in this case you should clearly see a line for $X equalling your automatic gratuity which you have to pay (by room charge, credit card whatever, to settle your check).

On the other hand if the party is less than 6, if you want to pay gratuity using a room charge or credit card they have to add it to the check _before they swipe your card_ *unless you also will pay for items not covered by the plan (alcohol, for example), then you can tip by writing in a gratutity after the swipe. A line saying "gratuity $0" on a receipt after the server has swiped your card means they have received no gratuity from the card. At this point (if you want to tip) your only choice is to leave cash.

More than once on the DxDDP, we had servers who I think thought we were on the DDP (appetizers not covered, hence 2 receipts, one with a tip line) come back surprised that there was only 1 receipt (with no tip line). So I'd suggest reminding the server before they bring the check that you'd like to pay a tip using your room card.

Momof2boys - don't worry, trust me, on platinum (and premium) all meals are only 1 credit. To be honest, most of the information you find here on the dining plan board won't apply to you b/c of the package. Of course, restaurant reviews and what items count as a snack will be useful. Anything referencing the actual operation of the DDP or Deluxe DDP won't be helpful. The dining component of platinum is distinct from both DDP and deluxe, and most of the information here will serve to confuse you.

We will be going in July and we also have 11 people too(grand-gathering) This is where I get a bit confused. We were informed also that all of our TS meals services' tip will be automatically added. Since we have 3 rooms for 11pp. Will the restaurants' CM's split the tip for you?
Thanks

You will all be charged the 18% but only on what each "room" orders. Since you will all have separate credits by room, your 18% will only be based on what your party actually ordered. Before you order be sure to let your server know how to "break up the party"
