Well I have to say that if you want to take a Honeymoon on The Disney Cruise Line I would highly recomend it.
Granted there were many children (but this is a Disney Cruise), but Disney did their best to accomodate and coordinate all of the activities into separate sections so that all the guests would feel more at home.
***This will be a long thread so consider yourself warned***
We arrived at MCO (Orlando International Airport), and took Tiffany Town Car. There were no problems and they were very punctual and polite. We then proceeded to Port Canvaeral where our luggage was taken right a way by the cruise line staff (be sure to have all of your medicine, camera, whatever you think you are going to need for the day in a separate bag, the luggage that they take will be delivered to your stateroom and you will not see this until they deliver it. Which is between 1pm to 6pm, depending on what level you are on).
Have all of your paper work filled out prior to arrving at Port Canaveral and check in is a snap. You then stand in line and wait for about a half of an hour then have your ID and your key to the Wolrd card This will be used for everything).
Once through the security check you follow the crowd and they will head you into their restaurant 'Parrot Cay'. Here you will pick your own seat and eat lunch, Buffett Style. If you want an alcoholic drink then you will have to pay for it, if not then the all drinks are a part of lunch. After lunch you head to your stateroom. This should be about 1:30 or 2. Unwind read all the material that you find in the stateroom unpack what you have on your person and look outside of your roomafter about a half hour one you get into your stateroom and your luggage should be there, if not then do not fret they have until 6.
Get yourself prepared for the life jacket drill, this is mandatory. Locate your kife jackets in the closet and listen to the announcements on where you have to go. If you turn on the tv they have instructions for what you are going to be doing so this will help you get organized. We unpacked and relaxed beofre the drill and the rest of the time was enjoying the ship.
One the drill is over the sail away party is next. Gte your Drink early and head to deck 7 in the aft. This a great place for a honeymoon couple, no one will find out about this until the middle or end of the cruise. The party if you want to be around all of the
crowds will be on Deck 9. The characters and bands are there. If you are not there early then you will have a bad seat and viewing area, so deck 7 seemed to be the best for us.
After that if you are in the late seating you can go to the show at 6:30 (which is for all of the late seating guests). And for those eating at 6:30 your show is at 8:30 (when the late eating rotation is going on you have your show then).
The shows were great and the the meals for dinner were very good.
Our rotation for meals were Tritans, Animators Pallet, Parrot Cay, and Tritons. Wed decided since we were on our honeymoon to dine in Palos the first night.A Jacket and Tie for the men is highly recommended, At Tritons you can get away with no tie and for that matter without a jacket if you do not have one. There were many people who did not have one. (e-mail me with questions and I will try my best to give you all of the information that you need).
After Dinner is a time for going to one of the bars, walking about the ship or go back to your room to relax for the evening. I do suggest to that you take Bonine (for motion sickness), this is better than dramamine. I love being on the water and have had no problem but once we went into the Gulf Stream you could feel the ship move and for a first time cruiser this will get you through the night. Take this everyday and there is no drowsiness .
The next morning you have your choice where you would like to have breakfast. Beach Blanket and Parrot Cay are Buffets, Tritons is a sit down type of breakfast.
Then off to Nassau. We were not happy with Nassau. It seemed like a bunch of beggers hitting you after the ship. We finally got a ride to Paradise Island and hit Atlantis. We did feel the need to rent a room at Comfort Suites, because we wanted to gamble and view the dig at Atlantis. plus with the amount of time we had we wanted to allow for time back to the ship and changing for dinner. if you have a family it my be best to do the excursions that Disney has, if you are a couple then you have the choice to do the excursions or explore at your own pace (this was best for us because we did not have a time schedule to stick to). As the saying goes to each their own. Do what you want.
Then it was back on the ship for another filled evening and Animators Pallet.Take a video camera to this restaurant, a camera or digital camera cannot capture the color changes as well.
Then you explore more of theship. The next Day Castaway Cay (everyone calls it Castaway Key, why I have no Idea).
Enjoy this island it will feel as if you were there for only a couple of hours, it goes by soooooo quick. We layed on the beach at serenity beach (the adult beach). At lunch time they feed you on the island (it is as if being aboard the ship).
The next day we were at sea and there is just too much to tell you. There is actually much more but I did not want to make this into a book and have not really achieved what I wanted to let everyone know. If you have any questions you can send me mail at Fantom@goeaston.net
and I will try to answer any questions I can.
All in all it was a great cruise and I was told by my wife we are going on the 7-night for our anniversary. Have a great cruise and enjoy every moment it goes by too fast.
Happy cruising.
PS- I also have two postcards if you need them. You get them on the morning when you are about to leave.
