Had another amazing trip at Disney. We went to Epcot. MK, AK and MGM. My fave attactions were -
Lion King
Fantasmic
Soarin'
Big Thunder Mountain
Indiana Jones
If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. I hated the Stitch ride and the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway - waste of time.
We ate at Donald's Breakfastsaurus and 50's Prime. Spend loads of time at Downtown Disney & loads of money at Once Upon a Toy and World of Disney. Cannot wait for next trip! :sunny:

I'm heading to WDW tomorrow, so of course I'm interested in hearing how the crowds were.

What, no Expedition Everest on your list?

How was Soarin??? I am really looking forward to doing this but when ds 6, saw it on the planning video, he freaked...i keep trying to tell him it's not that bad. Do you think he would go for it? TIA

I wanted to do Everest so bad but there is only so much you can do in a day. Also, my feet were in so much pain on the last day of our vacation that the thought I walking to Everest was unbearable.
Soarin, was beautiful. If you can go during the Magic Hour it is the best time to ride it. My 6 yr. old boy handled it well and he is a real scary cat when it comes to rollercoasters and rides with dips. It was realy beautiful.
I loved the Lion King show so much - it made me cry! :sad2:

There is nothing bad about it. It is a very smooth gentle ride which simulates a hang-glider. You are not going anywhere just sitting in a seat in a row of 10 people with your feet dangling.

I saw alot of young kids on Soarin'. My son and I are both afraid of heights but we loved it. You sit down and you buckle in - there is even a strap for between the legs. They lift you up and for a moment it is absolutely dark - then all of the sudden clouds are in front of you and it is like you are on a hang glider except that you are sitting securely in a seat. The pictures are so amazing and you are so far over the IMAX screen, not sure if he could tell how how he is. It tilts a little to the left and right as you "bank", but nothing major. You can smell pine trees and oranges, the breeze is in your face and there is a surprise destination at the end! Afterwards the picture goes dark and you are sitting up high in the dark for another moment, then it slowly glides you back to the floor. It's not straight up, its up and forwards at the beginning, and then down and backwards at the end. And it doesn't go fast, not like a roller coaster or anything.
You sit right next to each other and you will be able to hold his hand if that helps. But it is not a thrill ride - it is wonderful, soothing, beautiful and exciting all at the same time :cloud9: . Can you tell it is my absolute fave :goodvibes ?
I don't know your son - mine can be a little timid at times, and he is three years older, but he loved it. This is the one that avoids roller coasters and ferris wheels (tho I did get him on Space Mountain - he said never again!) Maybe if you tell him all this, he might go for it :thumbsup2 . It's not scary at all - you get to hang glide over California without actually hang gliding.
Good luck.

Glad to hear that Soarin is a hit among your kids. I am sure that if he sees other in line about his age he might not feel so anxious. Thanks for all the responses.

I just got back too.
My mom and I went on Soarin' over California at DCA, and she was apprehensive, but was fine (you could always close your eyes).
