Park your stroller in the shade! Our 22month old dd actually got overheated at WDW and ended up with a fever of 103.5 even after cold compresses and a/c for a half hour. So among other things that we learned about going into a/c frequently and for long periods, we also learned that if you park your stroller in the sun, it's flaming hot by the time you get back to it. Defeats the whole purpose of going into a ride for the a/c. So that's just a little advice. Some areas do have the "stroller parking" but these areas are not shaded, so if possible I suggest choosing a place next to a ride that is shady and within viewing distance of someone. You can find them.

I also suggest the use of a Rayshade and/or a stroller fan (we got both at onestepahead.

Especially with the larger sunshade, the air can get pretty stuffy inside the stroller and the fan just moves things around a bit. It is pretty tough to keep the toddlers from grabbing at it, but if you run it while you are on a ride/attraction, it keeps you from coming back to hot/stale air inside the stroller. Also great for when they are laying back and taking a nap in the stroller - you know they aren't going to overheat while they rest. The fan takes AA batterries (maybe 2??) and we only had to switch the batteries 1x during a 5 day trip ---BUT.. you do need a mini screwdriver to change the batteries -- First time, we didnt bring one, but they had it at the front desk of our hotel (Swan).

Me and my (will be) 5yo are leaving this Saturday for WDW. I heard I could rent a stroller there. She has never had one but for her enjoyment and it's natural carrying ability I plan to rent one. Any advice on where to get one. Should I rent Disney's? or get one somewhere else and bring it. Should I be concerned about mine getting taken before I get back to it? The last thing I want my sweetie to remember is the time daddy messed up the whole "stroller thing"

I agree with Rayshade idea...

JerkyNic, I suggest you read the Stroller FAQ on Allearsnet.com (click here) which has a lot of information about using strollers at WDW and also has pics of the rental strollers, rental prices, etc. They are pretty ideal for an older child IMO because they're a lot sturdier than the typical strollers that are available to buy. If it were me, it might depend a lot on how many days I was staying. Renting can be expensive if you'll need one for several days. You also have to turn the stroller in at the gate and if you have a very tired child might find yourself carrying your child back to the car/bus/hotel as well. But then again, you might not want to have to deal w/folding/unfolding the stroller, or worrying about it getting stolen (which I hear does happen from time to time, but I think a lot of the time it's a case of mistaken identity and sometimes the cm's move the strollers around to make room for more so they're not really "missing" just moved to another area.)

Another option for renting is A baby's best friend. You can rent a single jogging stroller (45lb weight limit) for $67 for 4-7 nights: click here

I think it really depends on how much stuff you will be carrying and how many days. If you are going for more than two days I think it's a good idea to buy an umbrella stroller with a shade, one that is really easy to fold and unfold because for trams and buses you will have to fold it up. We had our own because it has a large carrying basket and it has an adjustment for taller people to push it. But I think the little super cheap umbrella strollers are fine as long as they have shade. Even a smaller stroller that just folds would be better than a full sized one, because on the trams our full sized was a tight fit even with folding it.
