We just returned home after 9 days and wanted to post a few dining reviews.
Garden grill - The food was very good and the characters were very good and actually came back 3 times...the food was tasty, the turkey very tender and the food was more than enough. The dessert was okay, strawberry rubarb is not our thing but I am sure if it is was good.
Liberty Tree- very good, although since we ate at Garden Grill the night before we were a little "turkeyed" out. The food again was plentiful and the service was good. Again, the dessert was just not our thing, we wished they had more to choose from than the apple cobbler that was offered.
50's Prime Time - our waitress was grumpy which the kids loved and my husband and her would banter back and forth which made it fun. I had the pot roast which was a bit of a disappointment. It took us a long time from the time we walked in until we left and since it was for lunch we felt it took too much of a chunk of the day to do again for lunch.
Coral Reef - we did not have any services issues other than our waitress was a bit difficult to understand. I ordered the NY strip steak, which was good but it came with just a few potatoes. It was a meal that tasted good however if we did not have the dining plan, I would have felt it was overpriced. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi which he liked. One of our children orderd the creamy lobster soap as a appetizer and we all tried it and loved it.
Le Cellier- I ordered the Filet which is what I always order....it is tasty but again, if I was paying OOP I would have been disappointed because it does not come with a potatoe or salad. Just the filet. Not as painful using the dining plan. The smores dessert was delicious! It was unusual to see people from LeCellier stopping people outside to show them a menu and getting them to come and dine without a wait. It was very slow inside.
Ohana - Fun and tasty. We really enjoyed this meal. The kids really enjoyed themselves and the food and service was very good.
The Wave - we really enjoyed it here. The menu was limited but I ordered the tenderloin and there was a pototoe augratin that was one of the best I ever had. The portions were smaller but it was fine for us. The dessert was a trio of different things and was perfect.
Hoop Dee Doo - for some reason I reserved 180 in advance and we got Cat 2 but the last table in the back. We enjoyed it but it was EXACTLY the same as years past....I am not sure they changed one word?
Park Fare Breakfast - the Characters were a hoot, Loved the Mad Hatter. The food was good for a buffet and we really enjoyed this breakfast. Always love the atmosphere of the GF.
Tutto Italia - This one was mixed for us. My husand enjoyed his meal and my food was certainly edible but was VERY bland. It was linguini with shrimp which was good but lacked some flavor. We do not drink, only ordered 3 adult and 1 child meal and paid OOP for an appetizer. We ended up paying $35.00 for the tip alone. This would NOT be a place we would go without the dining plan.
We have noticed that by the end of the trip we were very weary of the Counter Service Meals offered in the parks. We stayed at AKL and did enjoy the counter service at Kidani and Jambo house but every park counter service began to look the same after a while. None was outstanding or memorable. We had a great time as always...if you have any further questions or specifics I would be happy to answer.....
