We had a great time at Vero this past week! We loved it so much,we actually added 2 nights! :sunny:
The beach is gorgeous and although the surf was a little rough to rent waverunners with the kids like we wanted to, we just enjoyed walking the beach, boogeyboarding and collecting shells! All those shells - DD was loving looking for shells!
We basically stayed at the pool all day as kind of our base and just let the kids do the different activities, etc, played mini golf, basketball, swam and ate! It was soooo relaxing! The kids loved the Unbirthday party! Had to get down there at 8:30 am to sign them up due to all the Spring Breakers! Also had to get down there at 8 am to get lounges and a table!
The CM's were awesome and we went to the Campfire 3 times! DD loved all the arts and crafts - Paper flowers, bead jewelry, umbrellas, etc. and DS loved playing kickball, mini golf tourney, spud, etc. There were so many activities for them to do!.
We had an Ocean View Inn room with a fabulous panoramic ocean view! We loved the 2 Queen beds and being in the Inn!
We never left property to eat. We really enjoyed Shutters for breakfast and dinner and got lunch from Bleachers by the pool. We got pizza from the resort once which was fine but liked the pizza from Orchid's (they delivered it)the best.
We also liked playing ping pong, shuffleboard, renting board games. It was just a great family vacation for us! Vero is definitely our new favorite DVC resort! We can't wait to go back ! :thumbsup2 I'm glad to answer any questions!

Thanks for the report. I am going to have to show it to DH who says that Vero will be too boring for him! :goodvibes

Thanks for the post! What did Shutters offer for breakfast and/or dinner? How was the unbirthday party? We have a 4 and a 5 year old - do you think they will enjoy that? Thanks!

Does Vero Beach Resort have a refillable mug program with a drink station?

We loved breakfast - great eggs, omelets( mine was tomato, basil and asparagus omelet) and kids enjoyed their eggs, bacon toast, too. They also had Mickey waffles, pancakes, etc. We wanted to do the character breakfast but cancelled so we could spend our last morning at the pool! I had low expectations for dinner because I'd heard it wasn't that great. We live on the S.C. coast and have great fish here and DH and I both liked our Grouper(DH) and Mahi( me). I didn't care for my Wild Rice but mabye that is just me. Our Spinach dip was good and they have great cornbread! Kids liked their pizzas fine. The second night I had a caesar salad which was good and can't remember what DH had! Like I said we were expecting it to be bad and although it's not fabulous, it is good! Kids got Mickey ear cupcakes with their meals so they were happy! The desserts sounded good, too.
My kids, 8 and 10 loved the Unbirthday party! They play, games, have a pinata, and eat cupcakes! What's not to like right? You drop them off for an hour, so as long as they are okay without you, I think they would definitely enjoy it!

Yes, and it's great because it's open during pool hours which are 8am til 10pm.The drink station is right next to Bleachers and even when Bleachers is closed ,the drink station is open because it is self serve. It was much better than HHI,IMHO. They have coffee for the Refillable Mug program located off the lobby by Shutters in the mornings.

Thanks for the post - Vero sounds great! Do you think older teens would enjoy it. My DD will be 16 and wants to bring a friend next Easter break.... thanks for any info!

Shhhh!!! Don't let the secret out about Vero.. ;) :ssst: :ssst: :teeth:

Actually, it is our favorite resort as well... There's absolutely nothing better after 7 days at WDW than a 5-7 day capper of VB..

We've gone down to VB for almost two weeks, and have stayed almost exclusively onsite except for some shopping at Wal-Mart and Hale Groves...

There were not a lot of older teens there, but they did have a few teen activities, specifically for teens (13 and up) such as soccer, volleyball,a teen craft. But these were mainly on Friday,I dont think there was much organized for teens the rest of the week.We saw a group of teen boys at the beach surfing and a group of teen girls laying out at the pool. I would probably post your question and you will get a response from those who have actually taken their teenagers. Sorry I'm not much help, but my kids are 8 and 10 so I didn't notice the teen stuff. I'll have to pay attention because it will be here soon!
