I just got back from the Poly! My family and I were there from June 29 - July 7th. And it is undisputed that the Poly is the new family favorite!

We stayed on the second floor of Samoa. I was sad that there was no balcony, but than again the room interior made up for it. Comfy beds, LARGE space. We had a view of the 'quiet' pool.

Kona Cafe was delicious! Nothing to complain about there..except..they didn't have my dad's birthday cake (that we ordered and confirmed) the manager did make it up...he gave my dad a free package of the amazing Kona Coffee.

The beach was lovely! And my personal favorite. We watched the fireworks (4th of July).

Captain Cooks was quick, easy and yummy. I know that recently people said it was quite a mess..but we didn't run in to any of that.

The GCH was peaceful and...had great shopping. We used the buses and monorail to get around. However...while we LOVE the monorail it broke down 3times.

Overall AMAZING.

Now its time for me to convince mom and dad to do Poly &&& A Disney CRUISE. Oh wishful thinking.

Any questions feel free to PM me or leave it here:)

I am so glad you all had a great trip to the Poly. We are headed there next month just for 3 nights, but I can not wait. I have not stayed at the Poly in over 10-15 years and DS(14) has never stayed there so we are excited.

Thanks for posting and glad you had fun! Did you visit Ohana at all?

Have all the rooms at the Poly recently renovated? We are looking into staying onsite Apr/May 2008 for first time. We always love to dine at 'Ohanas so we know what the grounds look like but no clue as to the interior of the rooms.:confused3 :

Yes. As far as I know all rooms have been updated.

Also, the rooms have 2 queens beds, a couch/pull out bed, chair and footstool, flat screen tv, plenty of storage. Lovely. wdwig.com has photos

Will be there mid august and looking forward to it for the second time.:cool1:

We've done Poly and DCL...it is the BEST!!! Just start saving.:tink:

It is the reason we are returning in just a few weeks for our anniversary. The Poly is the family's all time fav!

glad you had a wonderful time...can't wait to walk into the GCH.

Thanks for posting your review and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at one of Disney's most unique and historical resorts. It's truly a WDW classic and Walt Disney himself would be proud of how many people since October 1971 have enjoyed staying there. I simply love staying there and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning when it becomes time to stay there again. I'll be there on July 28th and hope to meet many people here from these boards.

Thanks for posting and it's good to see the Poly work her magic on the younger crowd as well as the older, middle age farts like me.:lmao:

I'm glad you had a great trip. We also had an excellent stay at the Poly, June 11-15. All of the staff were excellent and the food was great. If you can get an ADR at Ohana's it is a highlight of the Resort. The Teryaki Noodle bowls at Capt. Cooks are also excellent for a quick lunch. Try to catch the Tiki lighting ceremony, and walk the grounds at night, they're impressive. Enjoy everyone:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the review! I can't believe I can finally say that we'll there for 11 glorious days next month. Sorry you didn't get a chance to eat at "Ohana but that just means you'll need to plan another stay at the Polynesian.;)

Welcome back and I'm glad you loved the Polynesian resort as much as my family and I do!! :sunny: It's our favorite Disney resort.

That's great to hear! We are staying there for the first time next month for our 25th Anniversary. We can't wait! This is the slowest summer ever.

check out the resort ROOM picture thread! Lots of pics!

It sounds like you and you're family had a fantastic stay at the Polynesian, so thanks for posting about it. Since my family and I are staying there this December for the very 1st time, it's nice to read a positive view about it. :thumbsup2

Great report! My family and I will be staying at the Poly for the first time in October. We can't wait.

I am glad you had such a fabulous time! Your posting really gets me excited for our trip. We will be there for the first time on Oct 26 for 9 nights!

One question- is there a ferry boat from the Poly to MK?
