Just got back last night - quickie trip - 5/19-5/23. We're DVC members with some points left for the year, and were able to use them all for 4 nights PO. I've forgotten how much I love this resort. Theming is wonderful - so quiet and peaceful by the river.
Soarin ride is wonderful- went on three times in a row!! No real long wait times except for Peter Pan one day. Other than that, we walked on just about everything. Tried dinner at Le Cellier, Canada - delicious! Brown Derby for dinner - Cobb salad - okay - rather salty, but the Grapefruit cake was delicious. Wish I got two pieces of that!!
Chef Mickey's for breakfast - a zoo, but lots of fun!! $20.00 per head for breakfast rather steep, though. Two times, when my husband and I went up to refill our plates, our table was entirely cleaned off - coffee, cream, oj, everything!! We had only been there 15 minutes. Our waiter apologized - the man bussing the table too exhuberant!! Then it happened again - oh well, if they don't care about new cutlery, coffee, etc.
Weather was very warm - 88-90's everyday. Coming from rainy Boston area, it was a shock.
Too many parents and kids pushing themselves to the brink of exhaustion - many meltdowns on both sides!! Too many people not having a good time.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely, but we've been many times, and know we'll return. We tried not to push ourselves, but with all the walking, the heat, etc. we were tired when we boarded the plane home.
We only had one "problem" with PO housekeeping. Our housekeeping attendant the first few days was wonderful, friendly, and couldn't be more accomodating. Her replacement was a woman who did not speak one word of English. She gave us a blank stare when we asked her for more towels, t.p., or coffee. When I asked her for five more minutes for us to vacate our room so she could clean it, she yelled at me in Spanish. Why doesn't Disney require people to at least know rudimentary English? I realize help is hard to get, but I didn't have time for a quick Berlitz course!
