just got back from my DR

I believe it is Social Security Income--and I guess if one has that,it might make them eligible for Medicaid/Medicare (though I think OP is too young for the latter).

Some people will believe that they get treated 'differently' b/c they use public aid. But sometimes--people in life are just rude whether you are poor, or Bill Gates.

Thanks!

Terri

I highly doubt a nurse does the billing.

Just had to address this real quick lol..most people that visit a private practice don't really deal with a nurse but a medical assistant. While technically not a "nurse" they are referred to as such by patients as well as the doctors. And as a medical assistant I can tell you that yes, I am considered by the patients the "nurse" at our office (it isn't worth trying to explain the difference anymore lol) and yes, unfortunately I have worked at a prior office where I not only did the nursing duties, but the billing and front end part too. It was very...umm...busy lol and I barely got a chance to breathe. Now I work in a new office where I get paid more to do less, I am just the "nurse" and deal with patient vitals, Rx, and injections etc lol.

In general, nurses don't really care about what kind of insurance you have. We have to take care of people whether they have private insurance, SSI or no insurance.

Until 2 weeks ago I worked in a pediatric office- it is VERY important if anyone call you a nurse you correct them... otherwise it could be considered misrepresenting your qualifications and the office could be in deep trouble.

I am also amazed that they didn't have "coders".... glad you got out of there!

I know lol, I try explaining I am not the nurse that I am the MA but its like they just can't grasp it...of course I work with geriatric patients alot of the time so that could be part of it.

I am glad I am out of that office too...I worked over fifty hours a week and did NOT get a lunch. Being almost seven months preg when I was working there and being that busy over ten hours a day about killed me. I would come home and be in bed by 9pm at the latest and sleep all weekend. Now I am over seven mos and get to keep my hours parttime to 30hrs a week lol...so much nicer! Plus I get lunch so I am not sneaking snacks or starving lol.

This isn't just a typo or two. It's like the love child of Faulkner and e.e. cummings without all the literary genius.

I have a learning disability and have great trouble with spelling. Since I'd like to post and I don't want to look like I'm a 6 year-old using my mom's account, I do use spell checker. I also feel that doing so shows respect to others.

The OP goes far beyond bad spelling - her messages have so many spelling and grammar errors that they can be difficult to even follow. As I said, to me, that shows a lack of respect to fellow posters.

A few typos and/or spelling/grammar errors are one thing; but, the OP goes far beyond that.

You do realize there are people of all education and intelligence levels out there, right? I would think you, as someone with a learning disability, would know that and accept people for who they are. Surely if you've got a learning disability you've run into many students in resource classes with you who simply could not learn, for whatever reason.

I don't think that makes them disrespectful. It's who they are. It does not make you any better than they are.
