So folks, wanted to give reviews not only of the food and wine festival items we got to try, but also the restaurants that we went to. Our party consisted of us and our newlywed friends, but I am lucky I can remember what my DH got as well as myself that I will stick to just rating the two of our meals. I will rate on a scale of 1-10, 10 being so awesome I died and gone to heaven! So I will start with the restaurants:

Day 1 - Flame Tree BBQ- What can I say about this place. Reasonably priced half BBQ chickens- YUM! So large that if you add a side of fries two women can easily share this meal. 8 out of 10

Boma! We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always wonderful and I particularly love the carrot soup and the sliced to order beef. Let's not forget the zebra domes which I think might be my favorite dessert in Disney. I even tried some sort of peanut rice that my dh says I need to chill out about. I was mentioning it quite frequently. The tastes and smells from this restaurant always make me was to visit again and again! 9 out of 10

Day 2- Hollywood brown derby- I had the pork chop and it was incredible!!! So large in fact I couldn't finish it. Saved the second half for another meal which my dh enjoyed after our grazing day at Epcot. It was topped with an incredible brown sauce and smoked gouda and apricot preserves. What incredible flavors. DH had the Cobb salad which is his favorite item there. We also had dessert, Grapefruit cake and Chocolate 3 ways. My chocolate was awesome as was his grapefruit cake! 9 out of 10.

After Fantasmic we decided to run down to the Polynesian to catch Hallowishes so we grabbed a crab cake roll and a shrimp tempura roll from Kona Cafe's sushi bar. We got it to go so we could sit on the pier and watch the fireworks, and although both rolls were excellent, the shrimp tempura roll has quickly become our favorite there. 8 out of 10

Day 3- Cosmic Ray's -- On this particular trip I enjoyed a chicken nugget meal, while DH enjoyed the half chicken. The chicken nuggets were good and the choices of sauces nice, but lets face it, it is fried food. DH really enjoyed his half chicken however, so my rating is reflecting that. 7 out of 10

Cinderella's Royal Table- We went for dinner and oddly, they will not let you check in but 10 mins before your reservation. I find this odd since all the reps will tell you to arrive at least 15 mins ahead of your reservation. But we didn't get seated for 20 mins past our reservation time. So not only did we show up early, but we were seated late. This was 35 mins we could have been spending in line for a ride, but alas, was spent waiting for dinner. Other than the seating issues, dinner was excellent. I had the cheese plate for app, seafood pasta for entree, and the dessert trio. DH had the Beef soup for app, Filet for entree, and I cannot remember for dessert. I know my cheese plate was a lovely combos of cheeses, although my only complaint, is I have no idea what cheeses they were! I know one was a goat cheese, but that is about it! They were all tasty though. My entree was a lovely combo of cream sauce with crab and crawfish with papardelle pasta which are the wide long noodles. Really enjoyed this dish and was very afraid when ordering that I wouldn't like it, but was very pleasantly surprised. Dessert was wonderful, although it was a trio. I cannot remember exactly what was on it, but they all tasted very good. The meal itself was really good, and I enjoyed the experience of meeting all the lovely princesses, but at $50.99 pp for dinner with no chance of an adult beverage, just seems a little extreme. However, it is nice for a once in a lifetime meal or if you have children that really like the princesses (we got to see Snow White, Ariel, Aurora and Belle) Due to the high price and lack of alchohol, this one only rates 7 out of 10

Day 4- EPCOT Tasting day! Since this one is many food items from the food and wine festival, I will save that for the end of the review!

Day 5- Raglan Road- We decided to take a day off from the park and enjoy some DTD time and shopping, so we took a trip over to Raglan road for some food. Boy did we stuff ourselves here. For apps we got the scallop forest and the mussels, and I can say that both are fantastic! Although the mussels were not nearly as good as the ones in Belgium for the F&W festival, but they were very good. Then I had the Shepards pie and DH had the meatball sub. I thought his choice odd for an Irish Pub, but he said it was surprisingly very good. Although, since we had overdone it with bread and apps, we didn't finish our meals, mainly because we had to save room for Ice cream sundaes at Ghiradelli! 8 out of 10

Ghiradelli- Not sure I really need to explain this one, but sundaes here are a must on every trip for us. My DH loves the fact he can get Dark hot fudge! So he always gets the midnight reverie... although I made a mistake and got it with chocolate ice cream instead of his desired mint chocolate chip- oops. I got the peanut butter sundae, and we always finish off with a giant rootbeer. We love this place and the ice cream is always fantastic! 9 out of 10

Whispering Canyon Cafe- Wow what a fun place! Kids flying all over the place with stick ponies and lets not forget to ask for ketchup! haha The food was excellent as always, although the brisket was a little dryer than I remember. However, the chicken made up for it. Both DH and I got the skillet and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are going back on our trip in december, mainly because it is an easy one with being in the resort we are staying in, but we also really enjoy the food! 8 out of 10

Day 6-Pinocchio Village Haus- I got the cheese pizza and fries, and dh got the meatball sub. He said he liked the fact he could grab any dressing he wanted because they were all off on the side, so he added Blue cheese to his sub and really enjoyed it. Sounded very odd to me, but so be it. My cheese pizza was just ok. Side note here, we had friends join us and both of them ordered the chicken parmesan. I do not know if it was particularly this day or if this is common, but it took them 15 mins to prepare chicken parm. Now, when I am at home it takes me that long to prepare it, but in what is essentially a glorified McDonalds, it should not take 15 mins! There had to be 10 people waiting for Chicken parm just from our line! I am a slow eater and I was 3/4 done by the time they arrived, we thought they got lost in the interior of the restaurant! Due to the poor service and long waits for food, and so so food, I have to rate it 5 out of 10.

Cape May cafe- WOW All you can eat snow crab for $43 pp- works for me! The clams were also incredible. But another side note, eat the mussels before you go to the clams because you will be sadly disappointed if you eat them after the clams. Their beef left a lot to be desired, but the crab and clams were incredible! Their desserts if you can somehow stomach them are really good too. Very few options, but they are done very well. The oreo bon bons have become a new favorite of mine! 10 out of 10 mainly because it is all you can eat snow crab!

Day 7 - Back to epcot and more food and wine festival- however, we did try Rose and Crown Pub- Since our friends were enjoying their honeymoon we had them check us in for our reservation in the hopes of getting an awesome patio table and boy were we right in doing so, I think it is the best table for Illuminations we have ever had. Since we were still kind of full from eating around the world, we ordered one app to share which was the assorted pasties. They were tasty I must say, but they do not give you enough of the two I really enjoyed, the beef and especially the mushroom. I am not a sausage fan, so really didn't eat that one. DH said it was awesome with the mustard they provided. I then had the Sirloin and DH had the fish and chips, we also ordered a side of the cauliflower gratin. The sirloin was cooked perfectly at MR, but had to ask for more sauce. The steak was one of the better ones I have ever had. DH loved his fish and chips as that is his staple every time we go to Rose and Crown. We finished off with illuminations and sticky toffee pudding, and boy were they both phenomenal. Now I will warn you that service is particularly slow especially around the time of the fireworks because they figure you will want to wait around for them. Took another table 30 mins to complain about not getting their food and they up and left. Took us a while to get our food too, but we wanted to see the fireworks from our table! Just forewarning though for those that aren't prepared for it! I still give this one an 8 out of 10.

Day 8- We did Flame tree again this day, so I will not rate it again.

Jiko- Our friends and us decided to split up and have our own separate meals this night, so we chose Jiko. This is one of our favorites as well, and it did not disappoint this time. WE started off with one of the flatbreads, but it wasn't to my taste, and by this time my cold was in full gear so decided to not waste my stomach space on it. I also got the cheese plate, which I enjoyed to no end! I am really loving this option at the various signature restaurants because I am a cheese fanatic. DH got the Jiko salad, which I must admit, was lovely as well. He then got the Corvina which was dusted in maize and pan seared. What a lovely fish and preparation. It was really enjoyable. I got the filet with the corn risotto and cabernet reduction. This was fantastic! I wasn't able to finish it, so I saved half and brought it home with me. Was almost as good the second time as the first. 9 out of 10

So that was it for restaurants, now I get to rate all the wonderful food and drinks we tried at the food booths! Stay tuned!

Ok so I will go in order of the passport and mention the foods we tried:

Australia-
Shrimp on the Barbie - 5 out of 10, was too spicy and very dry. Didn't think the flavor could compensate
Grilled lamb chop- 6 out 10- very tasty, but so many other things were better, it got a lower rating. Although, this was one of the very 1st things we tried, so may not have gotten a fair shake.
Lindemans moscato- 5 - not as sweet as I thought it should be

Brazil -
Seared mahi mahi- 5- now I should preface this one by saying I am not a mahi mahi fan, but I actually enjoyed this one. The rice was a little sticky however.
Feijoada- 6- very tasty although left a funny taste in the mouth
Caipirinha cocktail- 9 - YUM! nice and citrusy and frozen so on a hot day really cools you down.

Argentina-
Grilled Beef Skewer - 8 - yummy with the chimmichurri sauce!
Beef empanada- 7 - liked the crust on the empanada

Caribbean-
Ropa vieja - 8- really yummy, but has a kick to it.
Jerk Spiced Chicken leg- 7 - talk about spicy!! Better have a colada on hand to wash this one down! Very good tasting spices though.
Dragon Berry colada- 10 - So good we had to buy the cookbook and the liquor to make it at home - simple to make too, dragon berry liquor, strawberry daquiri mix (just the mix, not the rum) and pina colada mix, and ice. YUMMY!!! Some people said it was too sweet, but not in my book!

Mexico-
Crispy Shrimp Tacos- 5- very spicy and shrimp were dried out from frying.
Flan- 5 - just ok to me, although they do give you a good sized piece of it, or at least they did on the Tuesday we went.
Dos Equis beer- 8 - the guys love their beer.

Scandinavia-
Swedish meatballs- 7 - meatballs were very tender and the ligonberry really adds a little sweetnes. Very nice balance.
Xante Sunshine- 7 - some sort of brandy or something mixed with citrus. Nice flavor, but potent.
Carlsberg beer- 6 guys were not a fan

China-
pork Pot Stickers- 9 - our friend is a huge potsticker fan and she loved these, they had a nice sauce on the side that made them very tasty.
Happy Lychee- 8 very sweet, but make sure you mix it up with the vodka first- dh tried it from the top before I mixed it up so he didn't care for it, but that was because he drank all vodka!

South Korea-
Lettuce wrap - 7 - I personally didn't try this one since I am not a fan of mayo, but it looked and smelled really good.
Raspberry Wine- 7 very strong, but light on the raspberry flavor

South Africe-
Seared Beef Filet- 7 - beef was much better last year, but tasted good.

Cheese-
Cheese selection - 5 - just ok, don't actually tell you which cheese is what.
Fondue- 5 - have had much better fondue at home

Brewers collection -
The guys tried them all but could only remember a couple -
Altenmuster Dunkel- 10
Hovels - 4
Smoked wheat beer - 4

Germany-
Sausage in pretzel roll- 6 not much to say although, if you are hungry, this one is a good size
Apple Strudel- 9 yummy, but not as good as last year!
Radeberger Pilsner - didn't actually get a rating on this one because I don't think they could remember it

Poland-
Kielbasa and pierogie- 8 - friends said this was the best pierogie they have had and mom used to make them
Golabki- 8 - DH really enjoyed this one.

Italy-
Chocolate Cannoli - 6 for something that was supposed to have dried fruit in it, sadly disappointed.

Fife and Drum-
Red Stag lemonade - 6 - just an ok lemonade, can barely taste the cherry flavor of the bourbon.

hops and barley-
Lobster Claw Cuddler- 8- big ole honking lobster claw with drawn butter- how can you go wrong?
Lobster roll - 8 - nice buttery roll and not overdone in mayo. Very tasty.
Pumpkin mousse- 7 Was very good, but friends didn't think it was all that. My rating would have been an 8. but they brought down my score with the comment - "but it is still pumpkin!"
16th anniversary festival beer- 9, one the guys favorites of the trip!

Singapore-
Tiger beer - 7

Japan -
Tokyo sunset - 10 - this was a combo of coconut rum, banana liquor, pineapple juice and grenadine (I am missing a liquor, just can't think of it) and was very tasty!!!

New Zealand -
Sea Scallop- 8 - YUM! Although the 2nd time I had it the curry was rather spicy and the scallop rather small.
Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney- 8 - very tasty little burger.

Morocco-
Baklava- 8 - good baklava, but would be better with pistachios.
Casa beer- 7 - not one of their favorites, but it is beer!

Portugal-
Calamari salad - 4- not sure how they cooked the calamari, but it was rather chewy. Flavor could not save the texture.

Belgium-
Mussels in garlic cream sauce- 9 - one of our favorite items of the whole event! Wanted more bread just to soak up all that lovely sauce
Waffle with berries - 7.5 - apparently not as good as mom's - but the berries were really good
Truffles- 6 - godiva's/lindor's are much better
Hoegaarden - 7
Leffe - 9

France -
Escargot - 6 - bread was nice and buttery and snails were good, but too much bread around them
Parisian Cosmo Slush- 8 - very full of cranberry flavor, almost over powers the drink, but very tasty

Ireland -
Lobster Scallop fishermans pie - 8 - nice serving of this and very tasty sauce - get 2 and it could make a meal
Lava Cake with Baileys sauce - 9 - one of my favorites

Canada-
Cheese soup - 7 - dh tried to tell me this was different than the soup in the restaurant, but I had to differ with that. Same stuff.
Maple and Moosehead Salmon- 7 - this was good but I think could have used more maple less beer.
Moosehead beer - 8
Neige bubble - 6 not a fan of the bubble one, too dry
Neige premiere- 8 - apple gave it a nice flavor like a sweet apple cider

Greece -
Chicken Souvlaki - 6 - not as good as last years.
Griddled greek cheese - 9 - This I believe was the favorite item of the F&W festival (although drinks scored higher this food won) Really yummy.

Desserts and Champagne-
White chocolate macadamia- 7 - Disappointed they didn't have the trio this year of all the desserts, but this one was tasty, but just ok
Moet chandon Nectar imperial - 6 - found better sparking wines at home for less than the price of 1 glass. Not as sweet as I was hoping for. I will stick to my cheap Ballatore Spumante.

Hawaii -
Kona Pipeline porter - the guys couldn't even remember which beer they had let alone rate it :)
Mai Tai- 8 - Very yummy, but we can get Mai Tai's all the time!

Craft beers-
We think the boys tried Purple Haze and Blue moon but they were so far gone, that we were lucky to get them back to the room in one piece! :)

If you have any specific questions regarding the items listed above, please let me know! sorry, no pics of any of them, was too busy eating to get pics.

Holy Moses! Between the food and the drink it's amazing that you made it home.

Refreshing to hear from someone that enjoys the food at WDW and avoids the endless rants about the way it used to be.

Desserts and Champagne-
White chocolate macadamia- 7 - Disappointed they didn't have the trio this year of all the desserts, but this one was tasty, but just ok

They did have the trio - it wasn't listed in the passport or on the brochure, but they did have it on the sign by the registers. We did try the trio (one of each of the three desserts - a little cheaper than buying each one individually).
We took 4 days to eat our way around the world and tried one of everything food-wise that was offered.

I see that you gave the lobster roll an 8 - I thought it was only worth a 5 this year - just hunks of lobster on a roll. Last year's was much better as it was more of a lobster salad on the roll. I also thought that most of the portions were much smaller this year including the drinks. For example, the lava cake in Ireland was a lot smaller than in previous years.
I thought the lamb chop in Australia was one of the better things offered - it was juicy and spiced just right. Hubby who doesn't like lamb devoured it.
The Pierogi was better than last year - but still not anything near homemade - but we rated the golabki very low. The filling was good - but the cabbage was way overdone.
The one thing that we wouldn't try again is the Tuna Poke from Hawaii. Chunks of raw tuna with a seaweed slaw. Had a hard time getting it down.

I totally agree with you on the lobster claw-small and disappointing. And the roll was just okay-better than last year's though. No fillers.

We too enjoyed the lamb in Australia. So much so we had it again a few days later. The second time it was earlier in the day and the lamb was much rarer than the first night. That night it was the right amout of rareness and had a good sear on it. Second time my DM's lamb was basically blood rare. If we had had it that way the first time we probably wouldn't have had it again. ;)

We had the dessert trio too. Liked 2 of them alot, one was just okay. (have to look at notes/pix to remember which was which though I know we liked the lemon one best.

Thanks OP for the reviews. We got back a week ago and I need to start on mine.

Nuts! I missed the trio! Well, hubby was pretty drunk by that point, so not surprised he missed it. Another reason why the golabki was rated high :) As for the Lobster, I am a purest, don't like a lot of stuff, so the buttery roll was all I needed :) I missed the tuna poke, but didn't think I could handle any more food at that point. We hit all 29 stations in 1 day splitting most of the food 4 ways.

Hubby and I order one of each food item offered and one of a specialty drink and split each. It still took us 4 days to get through even with splitting each item. When I looked at the brochure and passport, I was a little disappointed that the dessert trio wasn't listed. We were quite suprised when we went to the booth to see it offered. We did F&W for lunch each day. We didn't have any other dining reservations - just picked up a small dinner at the resort - except for Friday night where we did the 3D Dessert Discovery event. That was really fabulous. We had Sweet Seats and thought the desserts were fantastic. This year, it was definitely worth the money - besides cordials and spiked coffees, there was also wine, a margarita, some spiked punches and lemonades. Not only were there desserts, there was also a cheese table and sausage, ham, and proscuito. The drunken donuts were delicious.

The friends that we went with us were on a tight budget, so we couldn't do any of the special events, but they did have fun eating around the world! I was disappointed hubby didn't know about the trio, and even now he says he doesn't remember. Couldn't be it was the last booth of the day and he stopped remembering after about 23 booths.
