Just got back from Disney Port Orleans and we loved it!! I went with mom, dad, brother age 11, husband and 17 month old daughter. We all loved the hotel. There was something to do for each one of us. The boat ride to Downtown Disney was so nice. We rented a boat, the bicycle for four, and went on the horse and carriage. The hotel rooms were beautiful and very clean. We stayed in the mansion secetion and had connecting rooms. The pools were great and there was also an arcade which my husband and brother hit every night. We were also on the dinning plan and found it well worth it. We would never go there with out the plan. It saved us a ton of $$$. The only thing I was a little dissapointed with was how early the parks closed. I was expecting they would stay open at least till 10. But anyway had a fabulous time. If any one has any questions, let me know. I do not spell very well so sorry if somethings are wrong. :rotfl:

I am so glad you had such a wonderful time. We love Port Orleans, both the French Quarter and Riverside. My son wants to go back to Riverside this summer because he likes the restaurant with the waterwheel. :thumbsup2

My wife and I stayed at the French Quarter for our honeymoon back in november and had a great experience (my first trip to WDW). We are now buying into the Disney Vacation Club but will certainly stay at both Riverside and the French Quarter again.

OMG, i LOVE Riverside! Last time we checked in they told us this would be our tenth time staying there! Wow, everything about Riverside is so layed back and comfortable. I especially love the pools and landscaping.

I've read a lot of good things :) about POR! Which is good since we are staying there May7-12 :yay:

Looking forward to June 11th ~ 19th for our first POR vacation!! We can't wait!

Melissa

We're staying at POR for the first time April 28th - May 7th, and CAN'T WAIT now that we've heard all the great comments about it!

Has Anyone stayed at both Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter?

I have heard great things about them both - but I'd love to know how they compare to each other.

DH and I will be at POFQ in April/May for our 1 Year Anniversary  - Cant Wait!!

We are staying at POR May 6-13 for our first ever Disney World trip! We are soooo excited! I believe we can only stay at Riverside because we have 32 kids and French Quarter can only have 4 per room.

HOLY MACKERAL!!!!!!!!! We only have 3 kids, not 32 as previously stated. LOL! Now I will know to proofread my posts before posting. I usually do, but when they are short, I don't. Eeeeek!

did you request a room in the Mansion section? I think that would be more to my families liking but not sure how to get one (we did have our AAA agent phone in a request, but who knows...)

Taking my family for a first time stay at POR in June.....We are staying there, too, because of the 4 kids (3 plus infant). Hopefully we won't be to cramped, but like our last trips, we are only in the room to SLEEP!

What building were you in? Was it a good location??

We are going May 13-20 and requested the mansions. Last time (Aug./Sept 04) we stayed in Alligator Bayou - we had 5 that time - my sister came with us. This time it will just be me, DH & our two boys.

Hi all! :wave2: We stayed at POR in October for 8 days and enjoyed it. We were in the alligator section, bldg 14 and had a lower level room. Took our 3 kids, 15, 12 and 4 and let the two older ones have some freedom to come and go. Rooms were nice and clean, beds were pretty comfy and the trundle was nice to have. Grounds are really nice and peaceful though I will say I found breakfast a little hectic with the masses. :confused3 We opted to go really early and bring breakfast back to our room...but if you don't mind the wait, it's not too bad. We're going back in September but staying at OKW. :cheer2: The queen beds are worth it to us as our 16 yro is football player big so double beds just don't cut it. Overall, we enjoyed POR and would go again if it weren't that we have 2 bigggggggg kids and one little miss priss! princess:

Hey all... DBF and I are staying at POR April 28th - May 7th, and he is a BIG coffee drinker. Do they have coffee makers in the rooms there? Thanks!

 Yeah, I think they do have a coffee maker in the room. You have a long shelf above the closet area that houses a coffee maker. The rooms are nice; we were in bldg 14 which was perfect in terms of proximity to eating, pool(s) and catching the buses. Have a great time; I'm so envious of everyone going sooner than we are!! :lmao:

:confused3 You know, I just thought of this too, if you haven't already planned on this. If your dh is a huge coffee drinker, and you don't mind paying the price, :teeth: get the refillable mug and he can drink all he wants. :yay: I brought mine home, of course, and still use it. It's great to travel with in the car. :thumbsup2 Just a thought and hope you have a blast! :cheer2:

Thanks! I was thinking of the refillable mug, too, because we had them last year at Pop and they were great. But I was thinking if they had the coffee maker right in the room then he could get his caffeine fix ASAP and I won't have to deal with his crankiness for too long. LOL :lmao:
