Just got back. Any questions?

Day two was pretty rough for us too! Only I was the one with the meltdown.

Seriously, family. Get. Out. Of. Bed. We have a rope drop to go to. WHY ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING? UGH - now we've missed the bus. See what you've done?

Oh I melted down too. If I recall I was crying after PotC because my kids complained in line, complained on the ride, then cheered up when we got into he gift shop. I was crying and saying "my rotten kids are only happy at the prospect of spending money!!" :lmao:

Overall how did you like PoR? Was your room close to the main area? How did you like the pool? Would you stay there again? How was the food there?

Did you take part in the F&W festival at all? If so how crowded was it when you went?

Also - Chef Mickey's is a personal fav of my family's also! We can napkin twirl like you wouldn't believe!

Thanks for your two cents about your trip! Glad you and your family had a good time!

I love PoR. It's my second stay there. Its such a great value. We were about a 10 minute walk to the lobby but it was nice weather so we didn't mind. The pool was nice but the weather was slightly chilly so we only went for a few minutes when we first arrived. I saw them playing some games by the pool but my kids didn't participate. The food is decent. Typical breakfast fare. Lunch has pizza, sandwiches, create your own pasta, carving station with homestyle sides. (That's riverside mill. I didn't ever eat at boatwrights). It's just good. Nothing that's gonna make you jump up and down but gives you that "good I'm full" feeling.

I thought about eating some F&W fest food since a lot of the items were covered under the snack category but there were soooooo many booths to choose from. I just couldn't pick one. Everything smelled wonderful though. It was crowded but not wall to wall. Tolerable. Only downfall were the amount of drunken college kids that were around. Yelling and screaming at each other from really close distances. Lol

Just got back from a great trip. While its fresh if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Here's some details:

2 adults 3 kids
PoR for 7 nights
Regular dining plan
Went to all the parks and Halloween party
Ate at chef mickeys, sci-fi, Tony's, rose and crown, crystal palace, sunshine seasons, rainforest cafe, garden grill, and riverside mill foodcourt.

Ask away. I will help all I can. :)

What did you think of Garden Grill? I hear such mixed reviews. I really want to like it but I'm not so sure.

Garden grill is top 3 for me. It was nice to get more homestyle food in our bellies. Away from the processed feeling of most disney food. We got multiple character visits and the food was way better than at the character buffets. The salad was a little disappointing. A little soft but the rest made up for it. The rolls and maple butter were delicious. Its served family style so you just spoon as much as you want and ask for more when you're ready.

Our entrees were beef and mashed potatoes(sooooo tender and good). Tilapia with a mango type salsa ( very flavorful) and turkey and dressing ( also good and tender).

My kids loved that the restaurant rotated. It was pretty cool. I definitely want to eat there again.

Thank you for your honest review!:goodvibes

We also love POR! I agree with regular DDP being just short of enough food, but deluxe would be way too much for my family. We always pack a carry on with breakfast items (donughts, muffins, poptarts, and other snacks). This helps us grab and go in the AM and eat an early CS lunch and TS dinner. We are never hungry this way and we have an empty suitcase to bring home whatever we purchase.;)

What time should I expect the 3 p.m. parade to start at the MK?:confused3TDBIASWS.

I ordered the steak and fish and so did DH. The steak was meh. Probably would have been better had they not over cooked it but I was way to hungry to send it back. I thought the fish was really good. Better than the steak IMO.

We were there last week, and ate at Rose & Crown as well. I had the steak and fish, and my steak was overcooked too! That was the only restaurant that happened at, so my guess is that R&C doesn't approve of "medium-rare." lol The fish was delish, and wish I had more of that. My son ordered the fish and chips dinner, and only got one piece of fish! It was a large piece, but still.

Hi! If you could let me know about your Garden Grill experience, that would be great! We're eating there for the first time in April and I can't seem to find any recent reviews. Especially about what the current dessert is that they offer :)

We'll have a 13, 10, and 7 year old when we go...

Thanks!

We love the Garden Grill . . . very relaxed and much better than buffet food! Excellent service and character interaction. You can't go wrong!!

Due to an increase in the number of Live Report and Just Back threads, the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies Moderator Team has decided to start moving these over to our trip report forum. The purpose of the theme parks attractions and strategies board is to help people find valuable information to plan their trips, discuss the attractions, and changes that are happening at Disney World.

Live trip reports, and just back threads are really a better fit for our trip report board. You can find the trip report forum here:

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18

We know that everyone loves to talk about their trips, and we do love to hear about everyone's trips. So, please share your trip stories, and read about other trip stories over on our trip report forum. Danny

I've got more about GG in a previous post. The dessert was a skillet cake (white) with molten berries inside topped with vanilla bean whipped cream and the kids had cupcake cones. Very good!
