Just got back from a quick trip to WDW, the weather was perfect...sunny and warm with cooler nights. There was a cheerleading/dance competition going on at Epcot so there were alot of people there.

Friday the 20th. We had reservations (6:30) at Cape May Clam Bake because we loved it so much when we were there in February, we arrived at 6:15 and were seated right away. Well it was just "ok" this time. DH said the clams were excellent, the string beans and broccolini were great, the mashed potatoes were awesome, the salad selections were very good, the roasted chicken and ribs were also very good. The corn bread was dried out, the carved beef was dry, the beef and mushrooms had a very weird taste to it (yucky), the peel and eat shrimp were waterlogged, the baked ziti was dried out, the corn on the cob was waterlogged, the boiled potatoes were hard and the desserts were horrible (very stale and refrigerated tasting). I would still go back to this place because it may have had an off night, the place was not busy so maybe the food did not get replenished as quickly as when we went in February (it was packed that night).

Saturday the 21st. Breakfast at Kona! Yay, this is so good. We had reservations at 9:20 and arrived at 9 am and were seated right away. DH ordered the Tonga Toast with bacon, this is sooo good! I love it. I ordered the eggs benedict with potatoes and again, it was the best. We shared a delicious pressed pot coffee and I tried the Lilikoi juice, warning..this is super sweet, I had to mix some water into it just to drink it.

Off to MK for the morning, saw the new Monsters show, it was ok. Not very busy this morning so we walked on most rides without any wait. We snacked on egg rolls from the stand by the Dole Whip place and hopped over to Epcot. We shared a caesar salad, veggie soup and strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons for lunch, it was very good. Epcot was alot busier than MK that day, there was a 90 minute wait for Test Track and 120 minute wait for Soarin.

We head to the countries and the new Mexico ride is cute. We had dinner reservations at the Beirgarten for 5:45 and were seated right away. We sat with 2 other couples and it was weird because they did not want to talk, DH and I spoke to each other but the other 2 couples never said a word to anyone...including each other! The show started at 6, it was cute with all the kids dancing in the middle. The food was awesome, there was great macaroni salad, marinated tomatoes, vinegar/sour cream cucumbers, cabbage salad, herring, cold meats and cheeses, the best potato leek soup, pretzel bread sticks and rolls, mac and cheese, hot dogs, chicken fingers, brats and sausages, spatzel, beef roulades, roasted potatoes, sauteed carrots, roasted pork, pork snitzel, roasted chicken...everything was sooo good, we pigged out....but then it fell off the yummy track....desserts were so gross. They had the nastiest blueberry cheesecake, lemon cake, black forest cake and these little chocolate cups with vanilla pudding in them. The saving grace was the apple strudel with vanilla sauce, it was the only good dessert item there.

Sunday the 22nd. Breakfast at Cape May Buffet, reservations at 9:30, seated right away. It was not that busy, the characters came around multiple times. This was very good food, tons of fresh fruit, hot coffee, eggs, biscuits and gravy, great croissants. I love this place and cannot wait to go back.

We spent the last day at Epcot again, this is our favorite park. For lunch we went to Mexico and wanted a taco salad but with beef instead of chicken, well they refuse to substitute anything. So we got one chicken taco salad, not in a taco bowl and no chips on the side...it was all dark meat chicken so I would not eat it....DH picked at it a bit and then tossed it.

Head over to China were I got the new Peach Tea Schnapps frozen tea and he got the Mango frozen tea, wow these are DELISH! I hope they keep this tea stand, it rocks! We shared a beef noodle bowl and egg roll and it was wonderful, the beef was super tender and the noodles cooked perfectly, the broth was not salty at all.

One thing I did notice, the lines for CS at lunch and dinner (EPCOT) were super long, it took forever to get through them. TS for dinner was just about sold out, we heard alot of people saying "I cannot believe we cannot get into anyplace for dinner" Make your ADR's!!

Thanks for the reviews. To bad about the Beirgarten desserts. I wonder why they were so bad? Thinking of going there.

Thanks for the review

Thanks for the review. I had planned to get that taco salad, but there is NO WAY I'm eating dark meat chicken - yuck! I'm so glad I read your review. Now I'll order something different. Thanks!!! :goodvibes

We ate at Cape May Clam Bake in December...I 100% agree with you on your descriptions of the food items-same thing back in December. We were SO disappointed b/c the last time we had dinner there was in 1997-and it was one of our favorites back then. The quality has just gone wayyyy downhill. :sad2:

Shame about the Biergarten desserts. Thanks for the reviews.

Thanks for your reviews-you make me want to try Biergarten again. My DM and I ate there (once) in about 1998 (or maybe 2000). I remember that I liked it but I couldn't remember much about the food. I think it's time to try it again, this time with DD7. Since I didn't have DD at that time, I couldn't remember what "kid friendly" food they had. Mac 'n cheese, chicken fingers, pretzel sticks, and chicken-good for her! Too bad about desserts though, that's my favorite part of the meal. :confused3

This sounds like a must do! The drinks sound yummy! I hadn't heard about this tea stand yet but just looked at the menu at allearsnet.com and it looks like a great place to stop and get a refreshing drink. Too bad, it also looks like the only things you can use a DDP SC for are soda, or bottled water. :confused3 Oh well, I guess I'll just have to pay OOP.
