Just got back 14-18th may 2012

We have just got back from a 4 night stay at the Disneyland Hotel and am sad to be back. It was truly magical, the best trip yet but there were some lows

* my 10 year old daughter's bag was stolen from the Games Arcade within the Disneyland Hotel on our first evening, containing her 50 Euros, her band new purse and Eyore body bag and little bits and pieces and she was gutted (( Awful to think that potentially another hotel guest was that dishonest not to hand it in knowing that it belonged to a young child - it pretty much ruined the stay for me.

* breakfast was nothing more than chaos - the New York was never like this.The food choice was poor, and the way they waiter serve the hot drinks I felt was ridiculous when you could just have machines that are quicker and less fussing about.

Thank god the high points way outweighed the low points, much less pushing and shoving in the queues than on previous trips, I actually saw NO queue jumping for the first time in 6 years at Disney.

The strike action was of course, a pain but the reasons for it seem valid and I totally understand why. The character interaction we did experience was fantastic as usual, and brought tears to my eyes, yet again.

The DLH was lovely although I think well over priced. It smelt nice We had interconnecting rooms which was fab and they do need a lick of paint. We had writing in biro on the bathroom walls and all the skirting boards were scuffed but the maid service was good and the supply of toiletries was great to bring home as little gifts for my daughter's friends.

Am gald we pre booked our meals as the queues were pretty bad for people who hadnt booked and the meals we had were nice. Plaza gardens was manic so we much preferred the Hotel meals that we had.

All in all a special trip and it may be our last for some years. Ezyshuttle were fab too for transfers. Very good service.

A great trip and we have some great photos too look back on. My feet have yet to recover lol

Glad to hear you had a great trip overall. Sorry to hear about your daughters bag though, sadly there are dishonest people everywhere but it is really low to take something that clearly belongs to a child.

Oh that's a terrible thing to happen to your daughter -- how heart breaking it must have been for you all but good to hear all the pros out numbered the cons and you had a most excellent trip

Time to put those tired feet up and relax and look back at all the snaps you took -- would love to see some

Welcome back Shame there were some lows, but sounds like it didn't spoil your trip.

I think I know what you mean about breakfast at DLH - hot drinks are poured by a waiter at your table instead of machines.

That's terrible to hear about your daughter's bag. Some people really do have no shame - first of all to do it to a child at all but then to do it to a child at Disneyland is just the lowest.

Delighted to hear it didn't ruin your trip though and that you had a fantastic time!

Welcome back glad you had a a great time but reading about your DD's bag being stolen made me feel very sad. That's got to be one of the worst 'lows' I've ever read.

welcome back - what did you think made it chaos at breakfast in the DLH on your trip?

When we stayed at the DLH last year the first morning we did EMH first, then went back for breakfast about 10am. It was a very leisurely, relaxing experience. The next morning we went down earlier, I think it was about 8:30am so really the time we all know to avoid (!) and as it was much busier at that time it was an entirely different experience - still very enjoyable but definitely chaotic compared to the day before. If I stay here again I'd always opt for the later time.

Welcome back, sorry about the bag - that's terrible.

Have to say we stayed at the DLH in March and thought the breakfast was fantastic, and whilst it wasn't quiet it wasn't what you experienced.
Most days we got there between 08:30 and 09:00.
Our room was also spotless and really nice.

It is expensive - we were lucky to get a good deal - but other times it's just crazy money.
