Just got an email about pre booking character meets

Hmm. I'm cruising early-ish April. Will be interesting to see if they open it up for all cruisers by then.

I like the idea of not having to line up for tickets when I board. I also like the idea of having a choice of times, rather than just relying on the CM's 'first available that doesn't clash with something else' allocated time.

Ok, got my reply back today and they said that there was no meet and greets for 1 April first day. They scheduled me for 9 am for princess on second day due to third day being CC day. Also scheduled frozen at 9:30 am even though I didn't request. They said if that didn't work to let them know and they could do something else as their were plenty but they didn't give any kind of list of times.

On a side note, I asked them to cancel three people from our sting ray excursion on CC day. One in my room and two from another room linked to my reservation all imidiate family and I'm paying for both. They said that my wife and daughter were already cancelled and that they would cancel my son. I did not previously cancel them and I'm the only one who does any of this. Do I need to make sure that everyone is still on the cabana reservation or is that something I can handle on board?

Thanks

Did you ask for a list of all available times or just about a certain day? I started the request with "we would be interested, will you please tell me what my choices are?" They then sent the full list.

You can always change your cabana gust list on board. Just make sure the cabana itself is booked.

Thanks for posting! We are sailing in May and I had not received an email from concierge. I called and they were able to book both meet and greets for our sea day!

Hi everyone, it looks like the wording of their email has changed slightly to provide additional clarity. We are on the September Magic TATL sailing. One question, though (I'm a 1st timer on DCL) - should I email the shore-side concierge to ask about additional onboard character meetings? If so, which ones do they usually offer?

Dear thebigredBOAT,

We are pleased you will be sailing with us soon and want to share with you some additional information about your cruise vacation.

Very soon we will be rolling out the opportunity for Guests to pre-book a special character breakfast and two of many meet & greet opportunities with our world famous Disney Characters online. As a concierge Guest, we wanted to make you aware of this change and let you know that we have already secured your tickets for these offerings that include the character breakfast, a Princess Gathering and Frozen Meet & Greet opportunity during your cruise vacation.

No action is needed on your part at this time. You may decide once onboard if you wish to participate in these experiences. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via e-mail at xx or telephone xx. One of our dedicated concierge specialists will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

for people not concierge - don't worry if you get in Port Adventures line early on day 1 you should be able to get whatever meet and greet times you need (almost, if you have a lot of stuff booked like BBB and excurisions then perhaps you'll have to be flexible)... having said that, we are getting to the port late at our next cruise so I am excited I don't have to deal with the rush of the PA line and that they do this for concierge guests

When I was at the end of that lovely long line for tickets in April I was speaking with the CM who was issuing my meet and greet tickets. He said they can't wait for this to be available for everyone, as they get a few guests who complain to them about the queues, and then they have to try and juggle things around previous bookings like spa, BBB, Palo, etc. so it can take quite a while. He said it will be so much easier when everyone can just do their own pre-boarding, makes it work for everyone.

It does make complete sense to allow pre-booking so that you can juggle your own schedule better. I wonder if we'll be able to prebook marvel meet n greet as well on the Magic?

Are they opening this to everyone?

I actually think that wording is less helpful. I liked being able to select my day and time.

Which other meet and greets are you wondering about?

I liked this wording because it was clear that I didn't need to do anything in order to get tickets. The original email from DCL a few months ago further up the thread was vague about expectations.

To answer your question, I'm actually asking if there are any other meet-n-greets that I need to know about and get tickets for. I did ask about a superhero session, but they said that it was not offered on the Magic. Maybe only for Caribbean sailings?

I get what you're saying, but that makes it just like it was last summer. Because they picked out ticket times, we had to move our brunch reservations. When I got to pick my times, still before boarding, I could make sure they were right after BBB.

On our sailing the only meet and greets were princesses and frozen. There was also a private surprise character visit to the concierge area. Everything else was a line up like normal.

From the message, it sounds like soon EVERYONE will be pre-booking these, but for right now, Concierge guests are being offered the opportunity first.

It does make more sense to book them online, like everything else (BBB, Palo, port adventures, etc.)

I sure hope so. It was a mess on the Magic and I can't imagine one of the bigger ships.

My online booking window opens on Sunday. Any idea if pre-booking is available for non-concierge later in the summer? Has anyone tried to do online checking recently and seen the options?

We are sailing the mid august non concierge and there was nothing listed when checking in online about pre-booking our character meet and greets.

I'm sailing concierge in August and I don't have the on-line pre-booking option available yet. The email said that they would be rolling it out soon. I'm sure it will be rolled out to everyone at the same time. I'm guessing that once it becomes available, it will be available to everyone based on their regular booking time (120 days, 90 days, etc).

We just sailed on the Dream in concierge and it was never available online. I called the concierge line and was able to pick my time. The morning of our sea day was perfect! It was also offered on Nassau day.
