Just booked all my ADR's for August vacation, tell me your thoughts-
1st night- Tepparyaki Japan - haven't been there since it re-opened - how is it now?? (early enought to see illuminations after dinner)
2nd day- Breakfast at OHana's, Dinner @ Mickey BBQ (Please tell me how this is, I have never been to it. Will a 2 year old enjoy it? How long is the dinner/show) Can we make Magic Kingdom for the parade/fireworks afterwards?
3rd day - Breakfast at Chef Mickey, Dinner at Coral Reef (Never been there, but I have seen alot of you talk about it, is it good? Again, will a 2 year be ok there? I know there is no characters but will fish keep him entertained?)
4th day - Dinner at Chef Mickey (tradition, night before we leave)

Does this sound good? Opinions please, especially about BBQ & Coral Reef.

Didn't have any trouble booking anything (weird for disney, is it just because I did it so far in advance? or are they getting a little better about accomadating people?)

I would trade the dinner at Chef Mickeys for dinner at Crystal Palace, the food at CM was gross.

I would swap the breakfast at CM for breakfast at Crystal Palace so you can get into the MK before it opens, get great crowd-free pictures, and be at the rope drop for opening.

We had a blast at Chef Mickey's for dinner (I know others will say they didn't) and LOVED Crystal Palace for breakfast. Coral Reef was great - we requested a table by the tank and they said it might take a bit and within 5 minutes we were seated. My kids (4 and 2 at the time) still talk about that meal and were very entertained by the fish. They had placemats for the kids with pictures of the different kinds of fish to find in the tank - that kept them busy. The food was really good, I consider the crab cake one of the best I've had (dh loved the crabcake but had the wasabi potatoes and said they were a bit much, I had asked for regular mashed potatoes and they were great). My daughters inhaled the lobster bisque (yes, my kids have quite adventurous tastes for their ages).

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the idea of Crystal Palace instead of Chef Mickey for Breakfast, might do that. Do I have to request the table by the tanks @ Coral Reef when I booked it (I'll call back) or can I ask when we show up? Still wondering about the Mickey BBQ - Anyone been?

Definately do Crystal Palace for breakfast! We did that in Sept. DS was 2.5 then. He just loved it...so much fun!! We did do the breakfast 1st thing as to get us into the park earlier...I highly recommend doing that!:thumbsup2

Also, hate to be a downer but Mickey's Backyard Barbeque was one of our few major disappointments at Disney. There didn't seem to be much order and kids were just running all over the place. My ds was just short of turning 3 when we went the first year and I was really afraid that he would be run over!

If you still want to do a character meal how about Liberty Tree Tavern - then you can get a good spot for the parade!
