In case anyone is considering a layover in Toronto, I wanted to let you know that I used Priceline to get the Toronto Airport Marriott for $25 USD for one night. This will save us getting up at the crack of dawn to fly YOW-YYZ in order to connect with our flight to Florida.

It was my first Priceline bid, but with a little research on BiddingForTravel.com, I was convinced that I didn't need to spend more than $25 for a 3-star hotel, and I was right!

We need to do this as well in Jan. I will try ... thanks so much.

Oh no. The lowest price I could get was $140. I guess I'll keep trying.

That is a fantastic deal ... we're overnighting in Toronto also but will be staying at the Sheraton Gateway right at Terminal 3 as we arrive very late in the evening and leave early the next am to Ft. Lauderdale. How far is the Marriott from the airport?

the Marriott is a short shuttle-ride away from the airport, but for saving over $100, we can live with it! we'll take an early evening YOW-YYZ flight, and our MCO flight doesn't leave until 10:00 a.m. the next morning.

that is the one disadvantage with Priceline of course--you can't bid for a specific hotel, only a hotel in a particular area. so, although it was possible for us to get either the Sheraton Gateway (my husband stayed there a few months ago and thought it was nice), or the Radisson Suites (which would be very nice since we have a baby), we ended up with the Marriott. i knew there was a good chance of that, since most of the successful bids on biddingfortravel were for the Marriott.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately for us, our layover is less than 8 hours so the quicker we can check-in and get some shut-eye, the better. When are you going down ... less than a month left for us! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

In that case ... here are some guys to wish you off on a wonderful holiday ...
