Just got a call from IC!!

My TA emailed me that IC is claiming they are not making calls until 1/31 which to her and I does not make any sense. How on earth could you be making ressies at the same time while you are clearing the waiting list.

I will stay tuned for further development.

I hadn't wanted to say anything, because it just fuels the flames...but my TA called IC and they said that they haven't made ANY calls yet, but that they WOULD be doing it Monday and Tuesday.
All we can do is wait. It's like being pregnant and waiting for delivery day...only I'm not THAT uncomfortable!!

Well I just called back in the hopes of getting some kind of status, and I got the standard answer. There are over 400 requests and they are working them out and would call by Tuesday, but if they didn't, I should call back on Wednesday. Of course it opens for regular booking on Wednesday. I couldn't even get a verification that they actually have my IC request. So, I wait and wait and wait... and hope and hope and hope and hope!

I even put on the Sorcerer Mickey hat and waved a stick at the phone to no avail, although to the great entertainment of my children.

My kids are playing the WISHES soundtrack from the park and dancing around waving Tinkerbelle wands & the wand from lunch at CRT. DH seems to think that playing Disney music nonstop will invoke the pixie dust. I'm afraid that if IC doesn't call 'til Tuesday I'll be so Moused out that I won't even want to go on the cruise!

Note to self: Buy earplugs. It's going to be a long weekend.

I just spoke with the superviser again cause had to change my dates...she said that IC is calling but not to book just to confirm that you still want to sail when requested. She said they will start calling to book on the 31st as mentioned before.

She was sooooo nice and called me back to make sure that IC was getting the right info. I asked to be put intouch with her superviser/manager so to put in an awesome word for her. The manager called me back to say thanks and that they get alot of not so nice calls from customers, so is nice when some one calls in and says such nice things.

I have never ran across anyone not nice at DCL have you...always have been helped with what I need for the most part....

With all the people on the DIS with request with IC, I am sure that we will know when they actually start to call.--news travels fast on the DIS

However, I am not one for calling to make sure they have my request, as I am sure they have to dig thru many faxes to get to it...and that is taking time away that they can be booking an calling...booking and calling...so we just need to be patient. I know hard to do

My guest is IC makes calls at night to increase getting intouch with you. I was called last night 1/24/07 @ 9:00 pm.

Booked 7 Night Aug. 3, 2008 Cat 3, 2 Adults 2 Kids 16 & 14 at time of cruise. Approx. 12,400 no transfers and no insurance.

Cat 5, 2 Adults, Grandmother & Grandfather. Approx. 5,200 no transfers and no insurance.

A friend booked Cat 1, 2 Adults 3 Kids 17, 15 & 15 at time of cruise. Approx. 16,500 no transfers and no insurance.

I will have to go and look for a night job now or the kids do not go to college.

I don't know what everyone's TA is talking about, but I absolutely promise you all that we received a phone call last night from IC regarding the Mexican Riviera cruise. To be fair, we did fax in a request for a Cat 3 somewhere around September and requested to cruise in August of 2008 with two other families who also put in requests (Cat 1 and Cat 3). Not only did they book our cruise and their's, but I requested specific cabin numbers and got them. They are on hold till 2/3 when the deposits are due. IC also gave me the confirmation numbers and that is where I was able to look online at DCL.com and see how much the cruise is going to cost.

My TA just emailed me that she continued up the chain to find out the following:

Some days it doesn’t pay to ask questions, you are guaranteed to get the wrong answer...

I had my sales rep make some calls for me, and she has promised that we now have the correct information. Disney IS clearing the wait list at this time. I have to wait for them to call me, they will NOT take calls from us regarding the wait list; they are just too swamped with all the demand. My rep has told me to contact her if I haven’t heard anything by 1/30.

The supervisor I talked to on Tuesday called me back to say that she hadn't forgotten me, but she couldn't find anything. She asked me to fax her the original faxes in the hopes that will help her locate them. We think the problem may be that I said I would be flexible on dates - so she doesn't know WHERE in the stacks to look, since they sort by date. I thought being flexible with dates would make the request easier not harder!

I wish I was Donald or Daisy Duck...

GotDisney - you're right, they are always so nice - I can't image not being nice back. I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated what she was doing. I'll be taking a cue from you and putting in a good word for her also.

I hope you didn't think that I was questioning your post. I was just trying to get to the bottom of why my TA was being told something that did not make sense. I am sure others were also being told the same thing and were worried that only a select few were being called.

Some of those who have been called booked for August--Maybe they are working backwards on the list of dates??

If they are calling at night I wonder of my TA is open tonight.

No problem. I just wanted to assure everyone that IC was actually calling, this way you're prepared when they call you. They caught us offguard when they phoned. Let me know which date you choose when they call you.

PS - there is still a Cat 1 available for 8/3 for anyone interested (as of last night)
