I just got a $95.00 rate (total $111 with taxes & fees) for the Orlando Airport Hyatt on Hotwire for the night before our cruise, Sept 24!!

I took the advice of another DISer and checked it out. It's 3 1/2 stars with symbols for restaurant, pool, fitness & business centers and no shuttle. The cheapest I could get on the Hyatt web site was $144, so I am thrilled!!

Did the Hyatt have "customer favorite" by it and one review mentioned a shuttle?

No, I didn't see "customer favorite" by it and no review of a shuttle. Maybe that is by the date you are checking - I don't know. Good luck!

TeaforWendy,
I see the same thing as you - the hotel LOOKS like the Hyatt at MCO (3.5*, no shuttle listed in ammenities), yet the reviews talk about the hotel being located 'close' to the airport, and the great shuttle service :confused3

I've looked at many dates, and that hotel always comes up as the only 3.5 star, and the only one without a shuttle.

I'm beginning to think that the reviews are fake.

OK, I finally found it using the OP's dates.

The 'Customer Favorite' is NOT the same as the MCO Hyatt.

I did this last night. The first time I got 2 rooms at the Hyatt ... for 95 a night.

I immediately did it again for a friend travelling with us. Exact same ammenities shown, no shuttle service listed, no customer favorite, but the rate was now 96/night.

I figured it must be cuz I just 'bought' 2 room so they raised it a buck.

Turns out she's now staying at Crowne Plaza which DOES have a free shuttle and is a mile from the airport.

You just never know a 100%!

We stayed at Crown Plaza by the airport in January.....the hotel was fine, though they were still fixing damage done by the hurricanes.....the pool was not open then. Funny thing...the lounge chairs they had by the pool were the exact same lounge chairs on DCL....I have never seen that color combination anywhere other than on DCL. Since the pool was closed I could not see if they had the DCL logo on them or not....but I was very surprised to see them!! I do know that DCL sells off surplus of their lounge chairs....wonder if the hotel bought them!!!

We got the hotel thru Price line...2 rooms - $55 bucks each.

Oh, just wanted to add that it extremely easy to hop on the Beeline from the hotel and it took us about 40-45 minutes or so to get to the port from there.

Grim, I think the customer favorite is the Crowne Plaza. I don't get the other 3.5 star hotel (Hyatt) to come up. It just says $88 for the Crowne Plaza. Guess I'll stick with my $159. rate and keep watching it.

Keep in mind that Hotwire deliberately fails to list EVERY ammenity offered at each hotel to keep the purchases "blind." So just because the description for the Hyatt at one time did not list a shuttle option does not mean every description with no shuttle option = Hyatt.

Does this mean I can get the Hyatt for $54.95?? It DOES say the Hyatt, but I thought they don't tell you the name of the hotel until you officially accept the price. I'm so confused. I've never used Hotwire. I currently have a ressie for $177.

We managed to get the Hyatt once through Hotwire for a good price, but it seems to be very hard to do. I would love to stay there again the night before our cruise. It worked out very well.

I just booked the customer favorite - it's the crown pointe. However, they do have a shuttle to the airport and based on other reviews, this shouldn't be bad. Unless this mucks with our DCL transfers, I don't have any problems with it. If we return to the airport the next morning, we ought to be able to get the transfer (I hope!)

I'm not seeing where it says Hyatt, I plugged in your dates on Hotwire, and the hotel they are showing for $43 indicates an airport shuttle. I would assume that means it wouldn't be the Hyatt.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza last in Sept. It had been damaged by Ivan some, but all in all, it was a perfectly clean and nice hotel with good service. The shuttle is perfect. We got in late into MCO and took the shuttle there with no problem. First thing the next morning, I jumped on the shuttle again to go pick up our rental car from the airport with no problems. It was perfectly fine!

Hi Aisling! :wave2:

I did the same thing as you - I THOUGHT what I was looking at was for the Hyatt - Hotel: Orlando Intl Airport MCO - Sure LOOKS like the Hyatt, but that's actually just the region you are searching for, not the hotel name.

See ya in 6 months!
