Now it's just
TWO DAYS!! I'm so excited!!!!!
I had
MAJOR drama with something yesterday. It took up my
ENTIREafternoon/evening. Not DW realted, however!
I got a phone call yesterday from my wedding coordinator
(who also is an employee of my church) telling me that
Jesus' tomb had made it's way into the corner of the stage for my wedding!!!
I was like,
"UMM EXCUSE ME?!?!"
Aparently, it's
MY fault that the tomb was on stage because
I know that it's Easter weekend and it's typical to have props on stage for Easter weekend.
So therefore, if I didn't want props on stage, I should have chose a different time to have my wedding!!!
YOU DON'T KNOW HOW ANGRY THIS MADE ME!!!
FIRST OFF, my SENIOR PASTOR told me that there wouldn't be any productions this year. Well, he left and then a few months ago, we got a new pastor who decided to have a production this weekend.
I attend a very large church of 1,000 + members and this is how the "senority" in my church works.....we have a Senior Pastor - then 8 other pastors under him (worship department pastor, women's pastor, men's pastor, media pastor, etc.). We also have 7 decons. On top of that, we also have ministry leaders - on a voluntary basis (which I am one of those).
MY WEDDING COORDINATOR WAS TICKED when she found out about the tomb. She tried to stop it - and the man who was building it was the Men's pastor - so when he heard it was my wedding this coming weekend...and this gaudy ugly tomb would be on stage for my wedding, he stopped. Well, my WC took it straight to the
MUSIC pastor who is also
MARRYING us and
HE TOLD HER THAT IT WASN'T A BIG DEAL AND TO KEEP PUTTING IT UP!!!!
What I wated to sayto
EVERYONE who said "it is
NOT A BIG DEAL" was
"Would you want a TOMB in YOUR daughter's wedding?!? NO YOU WOULD NOT!!"
When I saw the tomb, I couldn't help but cry.

I thought, this stupid thing is going to
RUIN my wedding. Of course it would not ruin the wedding, but that's how I felt at the time.
Granted, the tomb
WAS in the corner but it was still
VERY tacky and
VERY noticeable......so tacky in fact that we were going to cover it with black cloth, trees, etc. and move
EVERYTHING from my wedding around to accomodate the tomb. That's when I said, "
WAIT, HOLD UP! I am paying to rent this church.....I am only getting married once.....and THANK YOU VERY MUCH I DO NOT WANT A STINKING TOMB IN MY WEDDING!!!"
The men's pastor offered to build me a castle over the tomb!!!

He said that a "castle" would coordinate with my whole theme. I almost considered it for a second but then I thought it would look like a tacky Prom background!!!!
Thank
GOODNESS that my Wedding Coordinator had some guts and some fight in her b/c no one except her and the men's pastor seemed to care about me or the fact that I was about to get married with a massive tomb on stage.
SO, she cornerd
FOUR DEACONS and told them the situation. You know what they said??
"Oh NO! She does so much for us, the least we can do for her is take a TOMB off stage so it's not in her wedding!!" They even said they needed to go above and beyond for me.....
One of them told me that they thought it was senselsss and stupid to leave it on stage for a wedding!! I'm so glad
SOMEONE cared!!
Soooo... I arrived at the church at three p.m. to "see" the tomb and decide what to do. I worked with various things and people trying to cover the stupid thing until about 6 p.m. I had to go teach my class at 7 p.m. so that's when my WC talked to the Deacon's. The tomb was "rolled away"

at about 9 p.m.
So this "situation" literally took up my
ENTIRE afternoon!! But I'm
SO GLAD it got taken care of!!!
Crazy, huh???
