We just purchased our first DVC contract, and I just got confirmation that it closed last week.

What happens next?

I remember reading prior posts that certain account information and passwords are sent to new members but not necessarily at the same time.

What should I expect to get first? And what do I need to have in hand to make my reservation? For example if I only have some information can I call on the phone and make a reservation even if I can't access my online account?

How long does it take to get everything? New account set up, access to online account, password, points put into account, and the ability to book via phone and online?

Thanks!!!

It will be sent to Disney to transfer ownership to you. It will take Disney 7-10 days from closing to transfer. Then they send you a letter (which takes another 7-10 days to arrive) with your member # where you can call MS to make reservations (and, I think, get your log-on info for member website). So, you have 2-3 more weeks until you get your member # letter in the mail. If you ever add on in the future, you will have access 7-10 days sooner as you will not need to wait for member # letter to arrive (can see and use points online at member website). Congrats and WELCOME HOME!!!

Congratulations! Welcome Home!

We waited 15 days from closing till having our member # in hand.

2/7 Closed
2/11 Deed Recorded
2/22 DVC letter with member number included

On the paper with our member # was a phone # to call (member services) to set up our online account. I was able to access the DVC website and book our first DVC vacation. Took about 5 minutes on the phone with member services to get it up and running.

About a week after we received our member #, we received a DVC book that had a write-up on every DVC resort and other info. Our DVC cards were included with this mailing. I NEVER received any other mailings from DVC with pass codes or info to set up our account. I suggest calling member services once you get your #. I've read people calling a few days earlier to get the member # and set up the account. Some CMs will give it to you and help, while others won't.

It feels as though Disney is slowing down on managing components of the resale process. Espeically ROFR which used to be 21-30 days at most which is now fairly frequently 28 to even 30+ days.

I just went through ROFR on my sale in 21 days. Actually everything went smoothly and ahead of estimates from the seller point of view

This happened to us as well! Sent to ROFR on Feb 18th and we were notified we passed on March 11th
