You're not the only one who feels that way but I am a spouse not the active duty member so I can't speak for my husband. But some of the best officers I have seen or heard of were prior enlisted and knew just what it was like to be an airman.

There are good and bad officers regardless of their source of commission, to imply that an officer that is not prior enlisted is not a good officer is ridiculous. One of the reasons that the services draw from a variety of commissioning sources is because it is beneficial to the officer corp to have officers with different perspective.

I didn't imply that non prior officers are not good officers. I just stated my opinion that the best officers I have seen were prior enlisted. NOT that ones not prior enlisted are not. But in my 14 years as a spouse I have been more impressed with prior enlisted. I am sure there are good officers out there who are not prior but that has been MY experience.
