Anyone lactose intolerant, do the restaurants have any lactaid milk???Will they subsitute???Thanks

My DH is allergic to Casin and Whey (milk proteins) and WDW has always been extremely responsive to any food allergies. Just make sure its noted on all your ADRs and mention it again at the restaurant. At buffets we've had chefs walk my hubby around and point out what to stay away from. They have even made things special for him. But I would give them as much notice as possible.

Digestive Advantage for LI is a great product that I use every day. I take one when I wake up, and dont have to worry about dairy for the day. Its in the grocery, near the ant-acids etc.

Definitely try to find the "Lact-aid" type products in your local drug store--they are usually located near the tummy meds. They come in different types including chewable. I am completely lactose intolorant and ice cream addicted! I never go anywhere without my Lactaid. Experiment with the amount needed for certain things like a glass of milk or ice cream bar before you go so you won't have upset tummy problems while there. I need different amounts of the pills depending on how much and what I am eating.

FYI--they also sell Lactaid drops that you use to treat regular milk at home. Follow the package directions. They drops are expensive, but usually it is cheaper to use them and treat your own milk than to buy Lactaid milk--$$$$! You can't take the drops with you because they need 12-24 hours to work. Also you can treat one gallon of milk and the whole family can still drink it--no need for a "special" milk.
