I am just a little past 4 weeks pregnant. I will be 3 months pregnant when I go on my next cruise (May 17th, 2003).

Any advice out there?

I am wanting to get the full back massages (my favorites) but I am afraid of the massage oils and if they are safe during pregnancy. Anyone know?

Congratulations! I am pretty sure the oils are safe, but by the time you sail how many weeks will you be? You may not be able to lay on your belly anymore for a back massage? I am currently 33 weeks pregnant! It has gone by really fast though. Is this your 1st?

Congrats on your pregnancy! I know that other places do prenatal massages, but I do not know if they are available on the ship or about the oils. You might want to ask your dr. just to make sure.

Congratulations!
Hopefully by the time you cruise any morning sickness you may have been experiencing will be gone. Of course you may be using some of your remidies for motionsickness(lets hope not).
You're talking to someone who didn't get alot of morning sickness, but I get seasick very easily.
As far as the massage oils, I wouldn't think they would be harmful to the fetus, but that would be a good question for your ob. I would also let the person giving you your treatment know you are expecting.
Relax and enjoy your cruise-you'll be very busy soon.
Best wishes!

This is my first. Actually I was pregnant in November but had a miscarriage in December. I will be 12 week and 4 days when I set sail on May 17th. So far I haven't had any morning sickness, but of course I am 4 weeks 1 day (I just found out).

I had bought some massage oil last year on the cruise and I saw on the box a caution for pregnant women to not use. That is why I am nervous about the oils.

P.S. This baby is a true "souvineer from Disney"! We went WDW the week I conceived! Thought you all would get a kick out of that.;)

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy.

Secondly, you can get the massage on the cruise. I had it done while I was pregnant (we cruised at the limit--I was almost 6 months along) You just need to tell the CM in the spa that you are pregnant. There are some oils/fragrances that can be dangerous to the baby--your massage therapist will know which.

Have a great cruise!

Thanks everyone.

SueEllen: Thank you for the information. I am so glad that I will be able to still spoil myself with the back massages!

Congratulations!!!

I was pregnant on my first cruise (not on Disney) and suffered from morning sickness/sea sickness - whatever sickness. I found that ginger cookies, plain crackers, flat Coke and the motion sickness bands to work for me. The bands are not fashionable by any means but at least they worked. Hope that helps you -

Congratulations.

My sister is actually pregnant with her fourth (God Bless Her). I was going to give her a pre-natal massage as a gift to help her relax. The spa told me they won't do a massage during the first trimester and after that they do it on your side propped up by pillows.

Not sure about the oils.

Best advice - ask your doctor.

Congratulations! :) I hope you have a magical and relaxing cruise.

Congratulations!!!!

If the spa offers maternity/pregnancy massages I would go for it.
I am 28 weeks, with my first (also a WDW Souviner) and I am getting a massage on Friday. I can hardly wait.
From what I have read the massage therapist should avoid your hands and feet as they have trigger points for contractions - I don't know if that is true but it sounds reasonable. :D

Have a wonderful cruise.

CONGRATULATIONS!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: I knew DIsney was a magical place...Dreams do come true!!

Ok now I am worried that I won't be able to get a massage while on board. Someone mentioned that they won't allow first trimester massages. But, now that I think of it my cruise starts Saturday the 17th and Tuesday the 20th I am offically out of the 1st trimester. So, I wonder if they would give me any massages?

Congratulations! I had our first one when I was 25; adopted our first at 30 and adopted our second at 40. I think I'm quite done unless darling DH decides otherwise!!!!

And no, I'm not ready for grandchildren!!!!!!

Best wishes and much happiness!!
