Just for fun...who owns at VWL?

Just because I don't have any pressing DVC questions, I thought I'd find out how many here own at VWL, since it is close to sell out.

So whose home is VWL? Do you love it? Will you stay anywhere else DVC? Or is it VWL or bust?

I own at VWL only, and I love it
I stay there 80 % of the time. The rest of my time I stay at BWV.
I like VWL for the peace and quiet and also the whole "feel" of the place. I like to stay at BWV when we are going on a cruise for the day before and after, since we usually just have time for an evening at EPcot, then Jellyrolls on the boardwalk and it is more convenient to stay close by.

DW and I joined DVC last year, with "Home" being VWL. We haven't yet stayed there (went to HH last May and going to VB this May), but will be there for New Years. We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Resort though, and expect to enjoy VWL more than the resort.

The majority of my points are at VWL. I love the theming, and think the imangineers really outdid themselves here. I prefer the resorts that have heavier theming, such as VWL/WL, The Poly, and AKL.

At least for now it is 'VWL or bust', but perhaps in the future we will try some other DVC resort. We will throw in the occasional day or two at The Poly or AKL.

There seems to be a group of us that just love VWL with a passion. I don't understand how the other folks just don't see it the same way.

We own at VWL. We have not tried any of the other DVC resorts, but they all look great! We had ressies at BCV for a trip in July. We were at VWL this past Feb. and our kids told us they were disappointed that we were not stay at VWL in July. So that day we called and were able to change our ressie from BCV back to VWL. Some day we will try them all, but for now we are really stuck on the lodge!!!

I am hoping to get a small contract there at some point...just had to replace windows in the house so I gotta wait a while.

My only contract right now is BCV and I love that location. I had hoped to take family to VWL in early December 2004 but I know that 7 month window will probably be a bear to overcome. I don't suppose anyone knows if that ever happens, do you?

We're in the process of buying at VWL and were very happy that they had points available direct through Disney (instant gratification, no need to worry about ROFR, MB offset the cost for us, etc.) vs. a resale. We'll be in DisneyWorld in 3 days to finalize all of the paper work with our guide (Jim McCoy--a fantastic person) and take a much needed vacation.

As far as where we'd stay, I'm sure the majority of the time will be at VWL (we stayed at WL a few years ago and loved it) but I'm definitely planning on trying out the various other DVC resorts as well. When trying something new, we'll probably book 4 or 5 days at VWL and then 2 nights at something else. I can't imagine just spending time at one place when there are so many options to explore.

We own at VWL, but haven't stayed there just yet. We stayed at OKW last year and are staying at BWV in April.

We are booked to stay at VWL in October.

We own at VWL and did our first trip home last August. We LOVED it! We will be going to HH for our kids' April break in a few weeks, like we did last year. I'm sure in future years we will try the other resorts.

First contract was at VWL, and stayed there last year for the first time. We LOVED it there. The theming is wonderful (I love that woodsy look, and the lobby is magnificent). We are in the process of redoing our family room to match our VWL home.

But our first love was YC/BC, and HAD to add on at BCV. So now we try to hit both each visit. The best of both worlds!

Eventually, we will be trying the other resorts (if fact, Vero is on the schedule for this July!), but it might take a bit before we are willing to give up staying at VWL and BCV...

We bought at VWL just about a year ago and we absolutely love it!! We took our first trip home last fall and planned on trying the other DVC resorts on upcoming trips but we just can't!! We loved VWL so much that our next trip will be there also. There is just something about it !

We have stayed at the WL a few times, and said if we ever bought in, we would buy there. Well we did!!! Got a resale there before the resale by back by Disney started! Can"t wait to go in November for the first time. We have also stayed at OKW, which I loved. I didn't care for the BWV, the area was too Hotel like for me. I think the difference at VWL is the access to the lake, fort Wilderness and the Monorail resorts.

We own at VWL and love it!!! We've also stayed at OKW twice (love it there, too, but it's not "home") and will stay at BCV before moving to VWL in September. We love the idea of trying the different properties, but VWL was the one we *had* to own at.

We have most of our points at OKW, but we did add on VWL.

We joined when we were cruising in 2001, starting with 104 pts. We got home, called and added on another 46 to make it an even 150.

During the Member cruise, we added on another 100 points.

The moral is: if you want your spouse to sign on for more, get him/her on a Disney Cruise.

We'll be staying at our second "home" in June!

Well, guess we're in the minority here. Yes, we own at VWL. And we bought specifically looking for that resort, expected to love it. However, after our first trip there last June, we wish we owned somewhere else-I don't see us returning there. There were many problems, not the least of which was the CMs we encountered all had this "We're the beautiful WL, and so we don't care!" (Anyone else old enough to remember Lily Tomlin on Laugh-In will get the similarity) Unfortunately VWL was our first trip after we bought DVC, and let me tell you, there were some serious second thoughts-that is, until we got to OKW and BCV. Now there are 2 resorts we'll be spending alot of time at!

VWL was our original DVC purchase....an easy decision based on our love of the Wilderness Lodge. And we thought it would always be "VWL or bust".

Then we stayed at BWV and enjoyed that immensely as well....a very different vacation. So we bought a BWV contract and will mostly alternate vacations each year. And I'm sure we'll sample all the DVC resorts at some point in the next few decades!

So we love VWL....but also enjoy the variety that other DVC resorts bring.
