Just dumped my jerk of a boyfriend....I'm going to DisneyWorld!

You're making me step onto Disney property? Ewww... :) No really, I'll probably renew my Disney AP or at least have a park hopper pass, so I'll be around. Besides, I go in October anyway for Universal's Halloween Horror Nights.

Now is your best friend single, female, cute, and likes roller coasters? :jester:

Well Barry...she sure is. lol. She's all of those.

What can you tell us about Universal's Halloween stuff? We'd really be into that!

So how many days would you say we should spend at Universal for the Halloween stuff? Can you see it in one night?

You can do that if you stay from like 5:30 to closing (2 am). I suggest hitting the haunted houses at 5:30. You'll be done by around 7:30, when the lines start getting long.

Thanks for your kind words!

Can you tell me out of all of the places that you stayed...which was your favorite?

I really like the studios at VWL - but the 1-bedroom (they have a whirlpool tub) are even better - next would probably be OKW - their 1-bedroom is bigger than my condo at home - I haven't stayed in the new BCV so I can't say anything about them. All HAFH have at least a microwave and under the counter refrigerator - the 1-bed and up have a full kitchen, with a washer and dryer.

now if you want a hotel not a home-away-from-home - it would probably be the Polyn (for the MK), and the BC (for epcot/studios) - they are just so nice to take either the monrail, boat, or walk to the parks.

If you want a moderate - I really love the POR - the boat to DD is great, the food court is pretty nice, the arcade is second only to Cont, and I really love all the quiet pools. but sometimes the 2 double beds just aren't big enough for me and my guests.

If you want to stay in a DVC resort (Home-away-from-home) you can rent points on this site from a DVC member (sorry I don't rent mind). just go to the DVC rental/trade board - read Doc'sFAQ first.

:bounce: Good for you. I am going through a similiar situation as yourself. I just turned 30 and will be single again after a long time. This July I went to WL with my family and spent some time alone also to see if I would like to come back by myself. I do plan on coming back in December by myself.

When I went back this time I wasn,t sure how it would be without her but I was ok. Basically don,t let someone take something away from you that you enjoyed doing. GO and enjoy yourself.

It's tough. No doubt about it. But when you know it's for the best, you can find some peace in it.

And speaking of peaceful...when I was at WL (when I just turned 30) I wandered around the pool and trouts pass at night...just watching the lake. I enjoyed it. I loved sitting on the lounge chairs by the boat dock (by VWL) at night. So relaxing I could have probably slept there.

You will have a wonderful time as well. Thanks for your kind words of encourgagment.

One day we'll both have someone special to enjoy it with...again.

I hear ya!!
I'm single again too (thirty something) and wonder if I'll ever met a total coaster nut that wants to spend TONS of QUALITY time at the parks with me. I'm actually excited about going on a solo trip. I've gone with just friends before but no one has the time, money, or passion that I do, to go as often as I would like. So it's time to go solo!! I say dump the bump and enjoy the need for speed... hehehe ok that was kinda strange, but I think you get the point...

I love that slogan...

Have a great time!! I can't wait for my trip in Dec.

Howdy, Mlissa88!

Sounds like you're going to be down there about the same time I'm planning for (I plan on arriving 11/29 and leaving 12/8).

This will be my 3rd solo trip. I have been going the first or second week of Dec. because of the lighter crowd, the warm weather, and (of course) the Christmas decorations! While I avoided sit-down restaurants for the most part on my first trip, last year I ate dinner in several sit-down restaurants. I do feel a little hesitant about getting on some rides as a solo, but generally after the first day or two, those fears are gone.

My recommendation: Relax, forget your troubles, and have fun!

I hope you have a great time! :bounce:

have fun. Ive been to WDW when I was attached & now unattached. & I may go again in Sept alone.
btw, I went to Lebanon Valley College so was close to Hershey. Live outside Philly now.

You sure were close! I enjoy the area. How do you like the Philly area now?

sometimes the people arent real pleasant around here but Ive lived here since I was like 13 (other than the time in college) so am used to it. & I work in retail managing a store so lots of people contact. Havent seen Hershey for years. Hope if the Co gets sold it doesnt go downhill.
still debating my trip in Sept...hopefully but

Old man Hershey must be rolling over in his grave right now with all this talk of selling. I hope it doesn't go through. Gosh...don't know how they could be doing badly...my candy purchases should keep them in business for another year or so...

We'll see though...

Why are you debating your trip?

due to work, family things (father is in bad shape Cancer etc)
do have a $400 travel voucher for Am West so am thinkin bout usin it if possible. but haven't had a vacation away this year.
1 of my employees just went to Hershey & brough back some Hershey bars,
we'll see if i get to Diz for my birthday........
