If you have contracts at two different resorts (say, AKV and HHI) with the same UY, can you combine the points at the 7-month mark to make a reservation at a different resort...say BWV? More specifically, can you combine points from both contracts to reserve a single night? I know that if the contracts have different UY's, then you have to do a transfer, but I am a little fuzzy on the details if they are the same UY.

TIA!

In my case, I have about 17 parts to my contract. They will only take the points from 2 of the parts, if they represent different resorts IF there are not enough points in the one resort. For instance, we recently stayed at SSR and it took 39 points. I had 37 SSR points to borrow, and the other 2 were borrowed from a BCV contract.

If both contracts are in the same membership , you should be able to combine the points for a single night for a reservation made within 7 months. If they are from different membership numbers, you will NOT be able to combine them unless you do a transfer.

Ok, thanks!:thumbsup2

I want to make sure that if we end up with a small amount of "leftovers" that I could combine them with the other contract. Since we'll probably buy direct, I would imagine that they will be under the same member number.

Interesting, so lets say hypothetically you have 3 contracts at 3 different resorts, all with the same use year, and had 10 points left on each - you cannot combine the leftovers of the 3 to book a room that required 30pts?

I think you can. I just have only ever needed to do a nights stay using 2 of my contract parts. The way it was explained to me was that you had to "clean them out." Now others may have something different to say, but that is the way I understand it.

You have to look at the contract number for that resort. If the first five digits are the same and the numbers after the decimal point are different, it's all one contract and you can use points from each of the add-ons to get a single night.

But if the first five numbers are different (the numbers preceding the decimal point), then you have to transfer from one contract to another to use points from each for a single night.

Why would you have a different contract number? Does buying resale do that?

You could have a different use year, or it could be that the titles were just a bit different and the fact that it was the same people wasn't noticed and 2 different memberships were formed.
