I don't think I'll be happy at ASMu. You see when we were planning for this trip it was either Poly, AKL, or CBR. Our budget for the vacation allows $2300. But DH and I've gotten on this savings kick.

I loved pop but I'm thinking about how much we LOVED CSR. And I think we'll be happy w/ CBR. I've been telling others how nice it is to save. And it does feel really good. But I think I've gotten carried away.

Our choices are ASMu 7 nights 7 day hoppers less than $1900. CBR 7 nights 7 day hoppers less than $2200. AKL 6 nights 6 day base less than $2300. So I'm thinking CBR is looking pretty good.

What do ya think?

OMGosh.. I'd be all over AKL at that price. (But that's me.. I've always wanted to try that place)

Actually.. now I stop and think about it.. for 7 nights.. I'd go CBR. I always want my trip to be as long as it can be.

I'd go with CBR. For $300 I think it's well worth it to go from a value to a moderate. Whichever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I never have energy to use the hoppers, do you? One park for a half day is enough for me. So, I would stay at the resort that makes me happy, and cut corners in other ways. But that is just me. I go more for the resorts, I think.

For $300 I'd go with CBR. I just love that beachy tropical feel that CBR has, plus CBR is the moderate with the biggest rooms!

It seems like you have been trying to convince yourself that you would be perfectly happy with ASMu and obviously that is not the case. If you really want AKL then stay there. But if you really need that extra day and the park hoppers then try CBR. Good luck deciding. I know how hard it is since I have Poly booked and am looking forward to it. But I think maybe we could save a bit more and buy new furniture for living room or other rather costly work I want done on our house. It looks like I'm going to stick with Poly though :) .

I would avoid AKL until all that DVC contruction is done, I guess that's a couple of years, right?

Given your choices - I would go with the moderate :)

There is nothing worse than spending a bunch of money on vacation and then not enjoying yourself. It is worth a little extra to make sure you have a good time. Go where you will be happy. Good Luck!:goodvibes

Well, I don't know how the construction of the dvc villas at AKL will affect that property, but if it was me for an extra $100, I'd run to AKL. It's an absolutely beautiful resort. If you're looking to save money, though, then go with the values especially if you're not one to spend a lot of time in your room or in the hotel.

I'm all for saving so I would stay at the value and use the $300 towards my next trip to WDW. I've stayed at all levels and each has their own special memories. Now, when not staying at a DVC resort, I choose only value or delux, and never bother with moderates anymore. But only you know what you want to do. I would guess that since you are happy at Pop (a value), then it's not the value aspect that you are unhappy with, it's the resort. We go 4 times a year and when I want to be pampered I stay at a delux, but in the spring and fall when it's only a place to sleep and I play in the parks all day and crash at night, I always choose a value.

Thanks for all of your input! I called and changed over to CBR. I feel that's the best fit for now. We really want that extra night and we've scheduled ADR's in parks so we need the hoppers. I should've gone w/ my gut to begin with. I'm not telling DH or DDs, I'm going to surprise them.

Thanks.

Yeah for you!!
Now, trying not to tell your family! I hope you can do it!! For a couple hundred more....look at what you get:) Beaches, more pools, BIGGER room, Ya Mon!! You made the right decision:) Jamaica 45 seems to be the best non preferred location:)

:cool1:

I think there is really no difference in mods vs value. They both have similar size rooms and full beds. I personally loved ASMu, and I bet it is smaller than CBR in size. You may have longer walks at CBR. I thought CSR was so large and spread out when I was there! Bus service was great at ASMu.

Glad you made a decision that you would be happy with. I would rather spend the extra money (with in reason and $300.00 is) and know I will enjoy myself. It is just $42.85 extra a day and what is that. One less dinner out a week or bringing lunches to work instead of buying out for a week.

Have a great vacation!!

We ended up booking AKL!!!:cloud9: We did have to make some sacrifices. We'll only be staying 6 nights but w/ NOJ going on at least we'll miss that crowd on Saturday. Thanks for all of the input.

From a value to a deluxe.. my kind of person.

I went from a deluxe to a moderate, but that is because we need two rooms now. So my within reason dollar amount was blown.

:lmao: DH is ready to kill me. We're surprising DDs. They think we're staying at Pop. I'm hoping the ME busses are the same. We had AKL, CSR, and Pop on the way there and back. Does anyone know if this is a regular route?

You'll love CSR. It's a great and beautiful resort. Hey, I wish I could afford 2 rooms at a mod! Hope you have a great trip!

From the above equation, I would definitely rule out ASMu, as CB is definitely worth $300 extra over the course of a 7 night stay. But then I see that AKL is only $100 more than CBR for a 7 night stay and the choice would be made for me...AKL! =)

I'm glad we changed but I did hate to lose that extra night. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
