Just curious, What is your occupation?

I know what you mean. The 6 days a week (weekends and holidays) gets old. The money is actually pretty good (six figures +++), but I would love a 9-5 job with weekends and holidays off, not to mention it is very difficult to take a vacation because I run a (virtually) one man show. I own the pro shop and my lesson book stays full so it is tuff to get away. Don't need pity though, it could be worse!

I am a Teaching Pro. in the Metropolitan Section and love my winters off. Being mister mom in the winter is tougher than being a Golf Pro. Don't you guys get some down time?

It was neat to see what everyone does!! This thread is great!

Well, I am a Flight Nurse (fly on a medical helicopter) and my husband is a Flight Paramedic. We LOVE our jobs!! Used to be an Emergency Room Nurse before that!

I retired at a very young age :thumbsup2 from a large telecommunications company. (They came out with an offer I couldn't refuse!) I am now a professional DISer. ;)

DW is a Pharmacist at the University of Michigan Medical Center. I'm a Respiratory Therapist, now working as a consultant for a major respiratory medical equipment manufacturer. Eldest daughter is a 3rd grade teacher at a Detroit area school. Her husband is a nurse. Youngest daughter is in her last year of Pharmacy School at U of M. All of us love OKW!

Hope your wife isn't the one that failed to have my backup ready when I reacted to my test dose of morphine after my c-section-nothing like going unmedicated for an hour because they can't find the pharmacist:scared1:

Really, though, we LOVE UofM, we drive there over our local hospital:thumbsup2

DH & I are both educators. He is a high school band director and I am an elementary school guidance counselor. No DVC trips for us during adventure season:teacher:
High school band director-now there's a 6-7 day a week job, and very late nights during football season when parents don't show up to pick up their kids. DS is currently teaching at a band camp, just enough exposure to the life so that he's sure he doesn't want to be a high school band director. Your DH has a very difficult, underappreciated job.

What is "down time"?????
Oh.... you must be referring to Mondays. Yes we are closed on Mondays (most of them). Other than that, 6 days a week of busting A@$!

Nope - whole different staff of pharmacists that cover Children's, Women's, etc. My wife works at a satellite pharmacy in Main.

I am an Arson Investigator/K-9 Officer for the State Fire Marshal's Office in and I couldn't be happier!

I am a Grant Specialist/Accountant with the University of Nebraska. GO BIG RED!

Jerry

Cool thread! DH is a physician, I am a nurse. I don't work in a typical nursing role though, instead I am the "Director of Clinical Services" for a division of a company that runs daycares for medically fragile children. I wear many hats, but it's the most rewarding thing I can imagine doing! :goodvibes

I am the Director of a Child Development Center at a community college. My Dh is a Lead Electronic Technician for the US Forest Service

I am early retired from a large telecommunication company (NJ) in Management and DH is also early retired as a computer network administrator from a large telecommunication company (NJ but different than mine). We moved to Florida to enjoy our retirement---became bored and now both work for the same company (yes we work together but different departments). We are doing FUN jobs now and get to work at a 5 diamond establishment. :cool1:
Florida living is the BEST !!!!!
