Im loking for some new ideas for treats this halloween~ we only get about 25 kids~ last year I gave out full sized candy bars but this year I think Im leaning towards potato chips and capri sun juice bags~ what are you guys handing out.

Candy.;) If I gave out full sized candy bars, I'd never get rid of the kids around here!:teeth: I usually buy little candy bars-100 Grand, Reece's Cups, etc.:) And gum.:)

I try to be the "oddball" of the neighborhood . . .everyone gives out chocolate . . .my kids get so much chocolate they have it right through almost Xmas . . .Soooooooooo I've been buying the big bags of Wonka Mix-Ups which have Nerds, Gobstoppers, Laffy Taffy, etc . . .But I really like your idea of chips and/or juice boxes. It's always good to be different.

By the way . . .one year I gave out BIG candy bars . . .and I'll never do it again! Kids kept coming back two or three times and pretending it was their first time . . .I couldn't get rid of them!

I used to give out candy, but last year I bought little snack bags of Cheetos. The kids loved it. This year, I'm getting Smartfood White Cheddar popcorn. (I always get stuff we like, in case we don't have that many kids...at least someone will eat it.) Just thought of a little tip...when my kids use to go out trick or treating, they would stop back home. I would go through their bags and take out the stuff they didn't like and give it out at my house! ;)

We always get a good variety of candy. I like to get some chocolate for the chocolate lovers, but I am always sure to get something that people with chocolate or peanut allergies can eat. We haven't gone shopping yet for it, but I'm sure we'll get a lot of different things.

I always give out the good stuff, and lots of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's see I give full size candy bars, the real large three muskateers or milkyways, the big things of reeses peanut butter cups, kitt kats, big peppermint patties, large hersey bars, large nestles crunch bars, and usually packs of cookies. I probably have about twenty pounds of candy.

For one reason or another we're rarely home Halloween and this year is no different except we'll be at MNSSHP :D

We've never been at WDW right on Halloween before. Does anyone know if kids trick or treat around the resorts?

Juice boxes. We have been the juice box house for the past 15 years and I see no reason to change now. We gave out full size candy bars the first couple of years that we lived here, but switched to juice boxes in 1987 and have done that ever since. On a good year, we have close to 300 trick-or-treaters. Thank goodness for Sam's Club.

Toys.

This year we are giving out whoopie cushions, friendship bracelets, jacks, tattoos, gliders, rubber poppers, bubble necklaces, assorted pencils and erasers, flying frogs, and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head.

It's fun, costs me about as much as the candy would for the amount of traffic we get, they deliver it right to my door, and I don't end up eating all the leftovers!

I tend to give out Blow Pops, smarties and bubble gum. If I gave out chocolate, it would never make it until Holloweeen. :)
The blow pops and smarties are bad enough.

I have Halloween Crayola crayon packets for the younger kids and will probably get some kind of chocolate for the older kids.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

Well, I always have some candy back-ups (even if I have to steal from my kids - Mind you, their candy lasts until NEXT halloween!! No Lie!!) But, I just placed my Market Day order for the Halloween Goldfish crackers and the Halloween mini-microwave popcorn bags. These are great, imo! Something a little different but, most kids enjoy! :)

I give a variety...chocolate, tootsie pops, smarties, etc...along with a Christian trak.
For the very young I give animal cookies.
For the kids that live in our cal-de-sac they get full size candy bars and homemade cookies.
Last year I gave our adult neighbors a small homemade pumpkin bread loaf.

I could literally re use my kids candy and they would get tons left over.

See, my DD is allergic to chocoalate, so we may have her stop by and "give away" her chocolate.

I haven't really even thought about it yet... we get tons of kids as well.

Years ago when I didn't know any of the kids I tried to play it safe since parents didn't know us either by giving out Halloween pencils....I found them in the front yard in the morning!!!:D Now it's candy or nothing!!

This is something DH will not let me do! He has too much fun making up the goodie bags and handing them out to the kids.

He will go buy upteen huge bags of all different kinds of miniature candy bars and a couple of those huge bags with little tootsie rolls, dots, suckers, etc.

He dumps everything out on the dining room table, uses those Halloween printed baggies, and makes up his goodie bags.

Needless to say, the kids love coming to our house (and he dresses up as the devil that he is, lighted horns and all!)

newmouseketeer, my DH is like yours. We just bought two HUGE bags of mixed candy from Costco (m&ms, twix, etc.). He will give out FISTFULLS of these to every kid. I NEVER had anything like that when I was a kid. And the thing is...we live on a dead end street which very few kids tend to come to. The kids who do come get TONS.

You guys are so lucky...we live way out in the sticks, and no one ever comes. Never has. Before the kids we were always working on Halloween so that those with kids could take off. After the kids, we head into town with the rest of the country bumpkins to hit the streets. Maybe after the kids we will live closer o a town and be able to join in the fun:D
