I have seen the pictures of the suites, Roy and Walt Disney, and was wondering if anyone has stayed in one of these and their opinions about it.

This was so exciting. We couldn't believe we were on a ship! It was beautiful, huge and just plain Disney! We ate at Parrot Cay and then headed off to meet our concierge at Sessions. There we met Laura and later Martin. They took our reservations for Palos, Surial Bath, CC rentals. (In hindsight, at that time I should have asked them what else was available for us as guests of the WD Suite.) Then we went off to our room - The Walt Disney Suite #8030!
The boys couldn't wait to open the door, it was like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, when everything goes from black and white to color. The room was absolutely magnificient! As you walk in to your left is a bathroom, on your right a table with magazines. (The hall winds up into the living area.) Continue down the hall and on your left is a room with cabinets, sink, telephone, and to your right a door which leads to two closets accross from one another then leads to the master bedroom with a queen-size bed and TV, bench, make-up table, nitetables. From this room it leads to a huge bathroom with jacuzzi, double sinks, toilet, shower, telephone and TV. From the master bedroom, opposite the bathroom is the library with TV, phone and a pull-down double-size murphy bed. From there or from the long corridor you came in from is the living room, wet bar area with TV, VCR, CD-player, telephone, sink, refrigerator, cabinets gallour, and a piano! Next to that room is the dining room with table and six upholstered chairs along with a table along the wall with all the menus from the restaurants. Adjacent to the dining room was another bedroom with TV, two dressers, telephone 2 twin beds and 2 pull-down beds on top of the twins, there was a walk-in closet and cabinet in there. Also in that room was another nice size bathroom with jacuzzi and telephone. The veranda had to be at least 40 feet long, it held two lounge chairs, four straight back chairs and a number of small tables. Door to the veranda were located in the Dining room, Living Room and Library. Absolutely fantastic. The walls were done in a light oak. There were fresh flowers as we walked in (very unusual, but pretty ones) and a fruit bowl. The refrigerator had a few sodas and bottled water in it. The ice bucket was full. (The beds and pillows were actually very comfortable too!) Whew - hope that describes it enough. I'm not really sure how to download pictures, but if your really interested give me the instructions and I'll be more than happy to give it a shot.

After boarding we were escorted to the Roy Disney Royal Suite. It was better than great with 1150 Sq. Ft. of luxury surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. There was a large living room with all the perks, a dining room, a library, two bedrooms and two massive bathrooms with a spa in each and a 35-foot private veranda that overlooked the ocean. As we walked in to the suite, we just looked at each other and smiled from ear to ear.
Soon after arriving, the head concierge and her assistance made there appearance to welcome us both and to answer questions and make our restaurant and spa reservations. That evening we had a wonderful dinner and show. Later we spent time together on our private veranda sipping champagne to a bright romantic moon and to the sight and sounds of the gentle ocean waves below.

We have taken 2 cruises with DCL , the 1st was in Nov. 1998 on the Magic in the Roy suite and the other was last Nov (2000) on the Wonder in the Walt suite.
As was stated the floor plans are identical although inverted (mirror images of eachother). The Roy suite is in a dark wood that is just breathtaking with pictures of Roy Disney and his wife Edna around the suite. The Walt suite is done in very light wood featuring the art deco style and does have a baby grand piano (by the way it definately does work as I had several "concerts" performed for me by my grandchildren who were with their parents, my married children, and staying in the 2 adjoining family suites). As far as I am concerned either one is the ultimate in luxury and made the cruises even more terrific than I could have imagined. If I had to choose which one I liked more it would be the Roy suite but its like winning the lottery and then having to choose either cash or check, either one is great.
All I can say about the royal suites is BEWARE because once you have stayed in one you can NEVER go back to a regular room. If you have any other questions or want me to e mail you the pictures of both suites, just let me know.

Since it was after 1:00 p.m., we were anxious to see our suite so we meandered down Beat St. to the forward elevators, up to deck 8 and into suite 8516, which is just adjacent to the elevatorsvery handy. Wow! The suite was very impressive! We wondered from room to room, taking it all in. The suite is paneled throughout in dark, high-gloss burled wood except for the 2nd bedroom, which is done in light burled wood. In the entrance hall is a mirror with a shelf below on which we found a variety of current magazines. Theres a closet in the hall, next to the ½ bath. In the living room is a queen size sofa bed, end tables, an armchair and coffee table. On the coffee table was a basket filled with kids' alphabet blocks, which our kids used during the cruise to spell out messages about their whereabouts. There are built-in cabinets and stocked bookshelves along one wall, next to the wet bar which is stocked with glassware. The TV, VCR and CD changer/player are housed in these cabinets, as well as empty storage space. On the other side of the room, opposite the couch, is the dining table with 6 upholstered chairs. The wall along the huge verandah is floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass with 2 sliding doors leading out from this room. The verandah has 3 chairs, 2 tables and one lounge chair.
In the master suite is a king size bed, 2 night tables and lots more built-in cabinets and bookshelves, and a TV. Again, one wall is all glass with a slider out to the verandah. Theres a makeup table built into an alcove, with a chair, big mirror and more drawer space. Right behind it is the big walk-in closet where there are more drawers and shelves, full-length mirror, the safe, and of course hanging space. Two plush robes and two pairs of slippers were waiting. Theres plenty of room in the closet for luggage.
In the first room of the master bath is a large vanity with double sinks and again, plenty of drawer space, wall to wall mirror and a big Jacuzzi tub. Next to that is the room with the toilet and big shower, and more shelves. The master bath is all marble.
The 2nd bedroom was set up with two twin beds and two night tables. Theres a walk-in closet, a small TV and built-in cabinets. The adjoining bath is divided into the sink/vanity area and the tub/toilet area. Its done in white ceramic tile, as is the ½ bath off of the living room.
The suite is decorated throughout in art deco style. It was easy to imagine being aboard an old, gracious ocean liner. We were dazzled.
