Just curious - GF Value season

Does anyone know why value season at GF begins on 7/4? I thought summer was the busiest season, this makes no sense to me. Not that it matters one way or the other for us; we are leaving 5/28...DH doens't want to deal with the crowds and heat...I'm just curious. Seems that summer would be considered peak season.

That's how the deluxes do it. It is hot and crowded, that might be why. Believe it or not, Disney does not consider the summer to be a busy season.

I saw that yesterday that value season was most of the summer, but most of October is regular season.... seems strange to me. Does this mean it's more crowded in Oct than in Aug I wonder? Wish I knew. We are planning a trip for next OCt but will have to pull DD out of school, now I'm considering the end of august, definately cheaper and maybe less crowds.
